hey all! current MFA Playwriting student here. this might be super annoying for me to say but, I’m hoping it’s more helpful than anything… I only heard positively from one school out of five last year. It was my first time applying, but I was already feeling so despondent before I received an invitation to interview. Two rounds of interviews later, and now I feel so much better than I did this time last year. TLDR: It really only takes one program understanding your work and your ethos around writing to say yes. And if not, grad school doesn’t make you a playwright.

I also just got off a waitlist a couple days after they anticipated solidifying things. so I would agree/say that this next week should bring a lot of movement! all this waiting can really add up emotionally tho, so I hope everyone is hanging in there okay!

I think a Brooklyn acceptance was posted on GradCafe on February 28

I am hoping that Brown saying they’ll ‘notify’ folks next week is for interviews, not for final decisions. I am only basing this on the fact that I haven’t heard of any Brown interviews going out yet. But who knows 🙃🙃 hang in there, all!
