Since folks are mentioning waitlist movement, I'll just take the moment to (respectfully) make one final plea for anyone with admitted to UPenn who has better options to let them know that you will decline. With a week left to make a decision, I (and no doubt many others) would be truly grateful for your help in getting a shot on the waitlist.
Thanks for your understanding and congrats to all those accepted so far!
Okay, just gotta throw it out there for the sake of it. If anyone has a better offer than the one they got from UPenn, please let the university know as soon as you can. That would warm a weary waitlistee's heart 🥺
Thanks for your detailed response! It's great to have those insights and direct experience. So, along these lines, I would assume that those invited to a campus visit while on the waitlist theoretically have better chances than no invite -- all else equal -- as it's a signal the waitlist is likely shorter?
Anyone with any thoughts on the likelihood of getting in off the waitlist? Obviously that would vary year-to-year, program-by-program, but does it ever happen?
Following up on this, @goodbears2024 was absolutely right. It was not over! UPenn extended a waitlist slot to me. So I'll make the obligatory ask that anyone with better offers decline UPenn's 🙏 but also my best wishes to those still waiting!
Any sense of where UCLA and UPenn stand? I haven't heard from either. Based on the multiple mentions, it seems like UCLA is settled and it'll just be waiting on a reject now. But for UPenn, there seems to be a pretty low number of acceptances and no rejections. Is there still a chance there?
