  1. I’m trying to share a link for a Facebook group but gradcafe seems to block links! You should be able to find it by searching UBC MSc SLP and AUDI class of 2026!
  2. UBC BA with my major in speech sci - i don’t know if they prefer UBC students specifically but they do have policies where 90% of the seats have to go to people living in the province/ nearby!
  3. Also got into UBC slp!! I’ll be declining my UofA acceptance as UBC is my first choice so that should open up a spot for someone on the waitlist!!
  4. Oh interesting! There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of ubc applicants on this forum so I feel like I haven't seen much talk about waitlist stats either - were you a within-province applicant or not from BC?
  5. Hi! I noticed in your signature it says you were waitlisted last year - if you don't mind me asking, did you also find out on the 6th about waitlist? or did they tell you later?
  6. Last year acceptances started on the 1st but the majority of people found out on the 6th and rejections were around the 12th - audiology usually comes out first. Not sure how the Easter long weekend and the addition of the Victoria cohort will affect the timeline though. The wait is killing me haha!
  7. based on the people I know who’ve gotten in/waitlisted/declined, I have a strong feeling they focused on the statement of intent and reference letters this round
  8. Edmonton for me but I do know of some people who got Augustana!
  9. It was in my email! - my portal still says pre-screening LOL
  10. Also got in! So happy because I was worrying so much about my GPA being low!
  11. Last year people got accepted and it still said "pre-screening" so I wouldn't worry about the status too much! I really wonder when we're going to hear back😭 I know it's not going to be in March like previous years but I'm curious when in April it'll be.
  12. Historically acceptances have been on the end of the first week of April (they send it out rolling and I believe the first letters of acceptance started around the 6th-7th ish last year). I have a feeling it could be even later this year though due to the new Victoria cohort but hopefully we’ll get lucky. I think AUD has only 12 spots but I’m not sure how many people apply - it is a bit harder if you’re out of province though as I believe Winnie the advisor said to someone this year 90% of seats are reserved for residents of the west coast. I didn’t apply for AUD but for SLP and also so nervous waiting - I think these next two weeks will be nerve wracking for everyone here 🥲
  13. Does anyone here know how UBC looks at GPA when considering your application? On the website there’s two options for the minimum, which are either all of your 300 and 400 level courses (76% min) or your top 12 credits in the area of study (80% min). Do they pick whichever one of these is higher? Or do they just use one, both, or a different measure for GPA? I think there’s a chance this might be unknown but I wanted to see if anyone knew anything since my GPA is a lot higher if calculated with the top 12 compared to all of the third and fourth year courses 😅
  14. Yes! I also had a problem with the GSMS saying I had "required actions" and I was really worried it meant my application documents wouldn't be considered but I was able to email and the advisor got back to me really quickly! The advisor can confirm they have all the documents on their end so it wouldn't hurt to just email them and mention your problem!
