Just got my results. Last name starts with L. Didn't get it.
-
I feel like they have stalled out for today....
-
Hey again! Imagine meeting again like this haha!! Did you start your program this year or postpone?
-
I'm thinking the same thing. last year they did L-Z May 1st so it tracks. UGH!!!
-
Last I heard they were on K. But it's been awhile and last year they stopped at K on April 30 and did L to Z the next day...
-
Congrats! What letter does your last name start with and what committee?
-
Sorry about that! The fact that you have funding through your university shows that you are a great candidate. I wouldn't read too much into the score sometimes it can be very subjective and random.
-
This is normal. You will get an email with a link to a new extranet account. You will have to sign in there (they will include instructions on how to do so) and then download your results in a zip file.
-
Also just to let everyone on here know that based on a Reddit thread, they just released last name letter D results
-
So sorry! Getting turned down is really hard. I'm guessing I'll be there too soon. But remember it really says nothing about you or your project. Having worked behind the scenes previously at Universities giving out financial aid and admissions, I know it can all come down to the most random things.

Last year they did two batch releases based on last name. Sounds like they are going one letter at a time this year? It ended up taking two days last year for all the results to get out. I'm L and no results yet. Fingers cross everyone and congrats AB2222

When i logged into my old extranet account from last year, it said error yesterday. Today it made me create a new password and then there just weren't any docs there. But I think it just means they are getting every thing ready and hopefully tomorrow we will hear.
-
I doubt it. They usually receive their results first and year on year when you look back at previous chats they always release the Doctoral awards on the last day of April or even later because of system problems. So I would just prepare you mind for that and if we find out sooner then it's a pleasant surprise..

Hey Everyone, This is my second year applying (wasn't successful last year) and so here are some thoughts... 1. It's normal for the application to disappear. It means they are processing things on the back end. 2. Don't count on that April 30th date or even end of April. System problems notoriously happened and we didn't find out last year until the first few days in May. 3. Also not everyone will find out at once if they do the same thing as last year. They notified people in two batches 24 hours apart so they wouldn't crash their system (which happened the year before). This was alphabetical order and wasn't indicative of whether you were successful or not. Hope this helps!

So happy for everyone who got it and that the wait is over. Unfortunately I did not receive funding. Dissappointed, but I'm still up for some University funding so hoping maybe that will come through for me in the end and there is always next year 🤞 -

Someone in the SSHRC office needs to put down their morning coffee and push the button to get the L-Z rolling!! -

Oh awesome! My background is theology but I'm in the history faculty to do history of Christianity. Still waiting on the college is a pain! I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. It's Lincoln College and thankfully they have a bunch of scholarships, but require additional application forms ASAP. And yes the increased funding makes things almost spot on thankfully. -

Oh that's awesome! What department and college? And yessss! It's so expensive especially when you factor in exchange rate. -

No I don't. I'm starting at Oxford this fall and don't currently have any funding. However, Oxford is still making funding decision particularly when it comes to college funding so there is still hope. It won't be until June that all funding decisions are made on the Oxford front which is a bit torturous but the academic year there doesn't start until October. I'm not sure what happens if I get both but I this point I'm not feeling lucky enough to get two things. I'm just hoping for one and will cross that bridge if I'm lucky enough to get to it. -

It could be alphabetical or it could be based on committee. I'm guessing that it's based on committee because that's how it went last year due to what happened when the system crashed. -

To distract us today would everyone like to share what they are working on subject-wise? -

I truly hope so and that nothing goes wrong like last year. We all just need this to be over. -

The news article that I read said the increased amounts would begin in the 2024-2025 year. https://universityaffairs.ca/news/news-article/graduate-student-scholarships-to-increase-for-the-first-time-in-two-decades-in-research-heavy-federal-budget/#:~:text=For example%2C the SSHRC doctoral, organization through the same portal. -

I'm just really trying not to think about it at all. But it's getting hard!
