Thanks for the answer! Where did you get the new fellow orientation? Is that common at all schools?

I got it too with E/E E/E E/E Never would have expected this as I only had 1.5 weeks of preparation, including getting the recommendations X_X. What is funny is that in the reviews, it is clear that the reviewers misunderstood some parts. Nothing major, but still shows that they aren't as thorough as they maybe should be.

This is interesting as I have just received the NSF fellowship. Is it possible and allowed to do an internship during NSF tenure if the internship is directly related to my research?

Hi everyone, I'm new so bare with me I'm hoping to do my graduate studies (PhD with Masters) in the states, but have noticed that pretty much all of you have extensive research experience. As a sophomore student in Germany, Im one of the top students and have just started working as a TA for logic design, but there won't be a lot of research despite my bachelor's thesis. In Germany, it is very rare that engineering students work while studying, as all the exams are written during the vacations. Nevertheless, I am thinking about asking some of the professors for small tasks I could do to simply get some insight into research, thats why I would like to know what you guys did so far. Thanks in advance
