I'm having a little trouble figuring out what to write for the community service section of SOPHAS. I am applying for PHD programs in epidemiology and got my MPH a couple years ago. Since then, I've been working full-time and most volunteered in 1 time events such as Race for the Cure and other assorted festivals. Should I even bother putting those on the application? I did do a lot of volunteer work in undergrad and grad school but only sporadically since I got out. Should I put the old volunteer work from college in the application? Any insight would be great!

oh wow Waw! Do you know if they interviewed everyone that they were interested in or if no interview means a rejection? I haven't heard a thing from them...

I feel your pain! I feel like I should have applied to many more schools than the 5 I did. I got rejected from CUNY, and no word from Columbia yet.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I contacted Yale and they said they would let everyone know the decisions by March 15th.

I have one more interview with Yale left, Yale is my first choice. One of the interviewers told me late Feb/early March would be when we would hear back. I have an interview with WashU and was rejected from Emory. How about you? have you finished all your Yale interviews? Who did you interview with there?

One of the prof at Yale that I interviewed with said that....so I would hope it's reliable unless he was just trying to discourage me!

I don't think they do, unfortunately. The anthropology prof I talked to a few days ago said they have selected 20 people for phone/campus interviews and will select 3 out of those (for socio-cultural anthro).

I'm interviewing with Yale today too and am so nervous!!! Who is everyone interviewing there with? I am talking to P Sean Brotherton, Marcia Inhorn, and Cather Panter-Brick. From what I've heard though is that they interview about 20-25 people and accept only 4.
