  1. Two things: 1) I highly doubt any admissions committee would have access to your financial aid history. Even if they did, they would only be looking at it AFTER they admitted you in the chances they happen to provide some form of need-based aid. 2) Why would that ever factor into their decision? If anything they would ask whether another Master's-esque degree would do you any good at this point. Why would they care how you chose to fund your education? I don't think you have anything to worry about. Now if YDS were offering mortgages....that's another story.
  2. In regards to your question about the financial aid information, I believe the merit scholarship is given based on your past achievements without regard of need. This makes even more sense if your were awarded this and the School does not have any of your financial aid info. I've been trying to get in touch with the financial aid office at Vanderbilt for a few days without success to find out what other kinds of aid are available. 70% off tuition is great, but I will still need to qualify for loans and such if I hope to go there. As to your other question about the program, outside of the website and a few comments from this site I don't know much about the program. I'm going to visit in a couple weeks. I wasn't given any dates for an admitted students day, so I'm assuming they don't offer one, which I actually like because I'll be able to experience what a typical day would be like there.
  3. They are covering 70% of my tuition with a merit scholarship...still waiting on what kind of government aid I can get.
  4. Has anyone here applied to a Vanderbilt Divinity Master's program? I received an acceptance letter last week, and out of the school's I applied to it is the one I know the least about. I was just curious what everyone's overall perception of their program's are, and if anyone else here has been applying.
  5. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea about what the effects of a late submission of my financial aid information would have on my application status? I sent my financial aid app in two weeks late, not realizing the deadline passed so early, meanwhile waiting for all of my W-2's to come in by mail. Anyways, I had initally presumed this would be no big deal because I applied to a Master's program and I figured the committee was still deliberating PhD applications, therefore the fact that I submitted my FA info late would go unnoticed. I just recently read a couple of people post, however, that they believe the fact they submitted their FA info late, or it wasn't received, had something to do with their rejections. Does anyone have any idea how this might affect an app? I can't think of a much dumber reason for getting denied acceptance having already submitted all necessary documents weeks before the deadline, only to miss a deadline on a section that isn't even a part of the application....
