anyone else reach the level of insanity that includes checking application portals?

Omg these all seem to have good programs and the locations of all of them seem so nice… i have heard sm good things about UNLV. are you fiction or poetry? i applied to (trying to remember): NYU, WASHU STL, UNCG, Rutgers-Newark, Syracuse, Ole Miss, The New School and South Carolina (i think thats all)

I feel the same exact way, especially knowing results are soooooo close to coming out. Like what do you mean i have to wait one or two more weeks?? Either way, wishing u best of luck!! can i ask what schools you applied to?

Yeah, same. South Carolina may get back this week, but I don’t think they will just because their app deadline was the 15th of January… I know Wash U Stl also gets back some time around early Feb. I really just want to get one result back, whether it be rejection or acceptance, just so I can feel like: Ok! its really happening! Hopefully some of my other schools surprise me and notify early

I feel the same way… The post application bliss from mid december-early January has went away and now i need to be put in a coma until march. Cannot keep being like: what if i don’t get in any anywhere, what then? but the answer is, i suppose as it always is, to keep going. But the waiting game is becoming less and less exciting and more dread inducing. At least we have each other though in this forum. Wishing you the best of luck as always

I remember seeing poetry rejections coming out early for BU last year and everyone else was surprised then too so im not really sure whats going on there

Yeah, I am anticipating a rejection from the first program i applied to (WASHU STL) because it was the only one with a deadline that early. With other programs, I had more time to revise, figure out what worked etc. All this to say, better news to come!!

This is all mere speculation to pass the time lol, but i feel like Ohio State isnt a school that seems to do that (but i dont really know, just going off past results). It does seem cruel to announce a waitlist and then make people wait a long weekend for a phone call, assuming that they havent already called. As more days pass, schools’ results rollouts make less and less sense to me

Maybe no point in speculating, but do yall think Ohio State will call today or make people wait until Tuesday?

Has anyone here applied to South Carolina in the past? I just checked draft and saw the two results reported were mid-late January which made me even more anxious because I thought i was free from having to actually confront my results until Feb
