  1. Congratulations for University of Minnesota.
  2. Hi everyone. I hope you are fine, as we completed this application cycle. Is there anyone who has been waitlisted at UT Austin Political Science PhD program? There were many PhD students who have been waitlisted there and I wonder whether there was any possibility for waitlisted applicants to ultimately get into the program.
  3. Thanks for your message 🙂 İt was a okayish cycle for me 😕 Which program are you currently doing your PhD? It is good that they would be able to offer spot for 5 students.
  4. Hi Everyone! I hope everyone is fine and I hope this application cycle went well for everyone. I would like to ask question about Vanderbilt University Political Science PhD program because one of my friends from my home country asked me to get information about that PhD program. Is there anyone who has knowledge about the competitiveness of that Program, is there anyone who could receive PhD offer from Vanderbilt Political Science Phd program? Any information would be helpful, Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi everyone! Anyone here who has been waitlisted at Washington University in St. Louis for Comparative politics subfield? Could you get any further email or information from the Department?
  6. I think it is the total number of applications for Georgetown's all Graduate programs; seems that the Department of Government didn't even write rejection letter on behalf of the Department
  7. Hi everyone. Does anyone know when or whether University of Pittsburgh would start sending its offers for its PhD program?
  8. During my previous application cycle, I had been waitlisted at City University of New York(CUNY) but i could learn this only after sending them multiple emails during the first week of March at that time, I had thought that they forgot reviewing my application 🙂 They had replied that they were looking options whether they could extend further offers. Hence, there is a possibility that you have been waitlisted if schools still do not respond to you.
  9. But you were being waitlisted at Stanford University, right? I hope you can get admitted there.
  10. Hi everyone. Anyone here who received offer from University of Texas at Austin Political Science PhD program? I am asking for my friend who has been waitlisted there and he wonder how many students the Department admitted for Comparative politics. He tries to make a guess whether he still has a chance. Any information for him would be useful 🙂
  11. You might be right, after the end of February except for the schools which still didn't announce any of its results like Pittsburgh, decisions that would be coming would be the ones for waitlisted applicants, as long as there would be rejections 😞
  12. Hello everyone, anyone has any knowledge about Syracuse University Political Science PhD program? I received offer from them, would probably be also attending to its admitted students day but any positive/negative feedback would be very useful for me because I have question marks in my mind due to its remote location, the City itself as well. I had applied there for Comparative politics subfield. Thanks in advance
  13. Hi everyone, wish you a nice Wednesday 🙂 Is there anyone who applied to University of Maryland and get admitted to University of Maryland Political Science Phd program this year? I have some questions about the program and their admission Statistics, that's why I've wanted to ask.
  14. Georgetown is very bad when it comes to notify applicants about their application result 😞
  15. I didn't get any official communication:/
  16. Yes, I have seen that today which is very bad news because I had applied there. Sent them email but couldn't get any response.
  17. As far as I know, AU SIS gives 2700$ stipend per month but I had heard from one of my friends there that the union would start negotistions for possible increase. I think Johns Hopkins University gives the highest stipend to its PhD students in DC. I also had heard that the Union at GW would also try to start negotiating for increase. Note that this kind of stipend increases tend to have negative effect on the cohort size for PhD programs 😞
  18. Is there any statement concerning whether you would receive 4-years or 5-years funding from SIS? If you plan to stay in academia, their ranking might not be good but for non-academic jobs; SIS would be good I think.
  19. I am also in a similar position as I received one offer about which I have question marks. But I am also worried about whether my professors would write letters of Recommendation etc. and to what extent I would be able to submit a better application file.
  20. I agree, Brown is way better compared to many Political Science Departments whose rankings are higher than Brown.
  21. For those who didn't receive any offer yet or received from the schools that they don't want to prefer, do you plan to reapply next year; what are your possible options? I hope you would hear good news in next weeks so that no one would feel the need to reapply.
  22. Hi everyone, I hope your application cycle goes well and I hope that you would hear good news from the remaining schools. I have one question which was asked by my friends in my home country about his potential chances; she wants to apply for mid tier PhD programs in the US; she is currently in a relatively known MA program but her GPA is 3.70 due to her health-related problems during the MA programs; even if she has pretty good GRE Scores and good quantitative methods training with several Methods courses; ICPSR etc. She asked me whether this GPA would make less advantegous in PhD applications but I couldn't be sure about that. What do you think; especially based on your observations?
  23. Is there anyone here who had received admission from George Washington University? If yes; asking for curiosity, is there any information about how many applications they received this year and how many applicants did they admit for Comparative politics?
  24. Yes, especially for international students; GRE Exams are a bit expensive as there are no possibility of fee waivership.
  25. I completely agree; the professors who are on the admission committees significantly matter. But still can't understand how an applicant with such a low GRE Scores can be admitted. I admit that GRE Scores don't represent a good indicator but for me; it is a bit unfair towards other applicants to admit an applicant with so low GRE Scores. I took this exam twice times in order to increase my Scores, for instance.
