Bumping this up... this is the one school I applied to that hasn't been throwing acceptances and rejections left and right (so, I'm still kinda sorta holding out hope). Other than the 2 acceptances posted on the board earlier this month has anyone heard anything??? Last year, there were a whole bunch of rejections and wait-lists posted just a few days after the lucky acceptees were informed. It seems strange that we've heard nada.
Well, hey! That's good-ish news, right? Congrats on Northwestern, swilson. By any chance, did Duke provide any info in the email about how many they're waitlisting/how it is sorted/etc? Thanks!
Actually, I haven't yet. I guess someone beat me to the punch. Maybe I'll just wait one more day so as not to annoy the lovely folks in the office...? (Can you tell I'm overthinking everything now?)
Good call... Honestly, why do people do that?! I didn't even apply and that acceptance post took me on a roller coaster of emotions over 5 minutes. Sigh. Here's hoping someone out there is genuinely happy, not just trying to give us mini-heart attacks.
Congrats to those who have been accepted!
I'm still waiting... and waiting...
Nothing has shown up on my applyweb page. I've received no emails. I'm beginning to feel like I live in a black hole. Do you think enough time has elapsed since the first notifications that it wouldn't be super annoying (just slightly annoying) to contact the department?
edited to offer congratulations, which I should have done so in the first place
If it makes anyone feel better, I didn't even receive that earlier email about when they were planning on making decisions, etc... Reading about that email on this board and the Livejournal community put me in a state of absolute panic and for a while, I was rather convinced that I hadn't even submitted my application (which I had, according to the graduate secretary).
Hi everyone. I've been lurking around the forums for a while, trying (but mostly failing) to assuage all my feelings of panic and confusion regarding the application process. I have learned a lot from everyone though.
