I went to one this year! From what I experienced, they were happy to answer all questions and they really made a point to woo perspective students. There is interaction with current PhD students there as well.

Just for the record, apparently many Af-Am departments had funding cut this year (big surprise!) so not sure how this is going to look for applicants next year. Still wishing the best for everyone during this tough time.

I haven’t heard back from Brown either. Do you think they sent out acceptance already?

Same... Had 3 rejections back to back and now looking at schools with late deadlines to see if I can beef up my numbers.

Honestly… that’s what I’m thinking about Brown. Princeton as well. At this point we are just waiting for rejections, but at the same time, we can’t give up hope in our other applications!

I wonder how much this plays into the fully-funded programs

Feeling this about Brown and Princeton. You would think they would just send out the rejections already 🙄 just say you don’t want us and allow us to move on with our lives 😭

Definitely not alone. We all are concerned about this. I actually like it here better than some other forums where they weren’t concerned about getting into a program, just about getting into an ivy. I feel everyone here just wants to do their best and get into one of their choices.

I wouldn’t be surprised of this with the massive cuts going on. And for those of us doing more “controversial” fields, we are probably even more on the chopping block.

This is an interesting take. Do you think it’s about funding?
