It is definitely affecting cohort size. I have accepted an offer at JHU's Health Economics and Policy and i was the only person they admitted this year, they usually admit 4-5. They didnt even admit anyone in the health services research concentration. I have an offer for Berkeley's Health Policy and I dont think their cohort size has changed but they did update their funding letter to say that they can rescind or reduce it at any moment (offer is 36k, which is already super low)

Congratulations!! I had 4 interviews this past week and the main advice I have is to show your enthusiasm! Make sure they can see why you are excited about their program!! Ask good questions, you are assessing them as much as they are assessing you! I'd also have a list of prepared answers to common questions like "tell us a bit about yourself" or "why public health"! Finally, i know its really hard but try to be as relaxed as possible. They already really really like your application, so they are just checking that you can talk clearly and you fit the vibe of the department. Be yourself !!! And good luck.

Just got an interview request from Brown's Health Services Research. The interview day is Jan 21 joint with epi, biostats, behavioural and social sciences. Not sure if its one round or multiple
