  1. I interviewed with SAIC with Shannon Stratton and Jim Lutes and I was very tired so I feel like i forgot to talk about some things because I ended up talking about individual pieces a lot by accident. I did try to tie it back to what my work was about overall though. I can't really tell how it went because of this but they were receptive and commented here and there about their interest in the work.
  2. Just got an interview request from Cranbrook Painting. They did say in an email that people receive responses at different times so I wouldn't be too worried if you don't hear back.
  3. As others have said you might be better off given what's out there about the program. I got an interview but I'm on the fence about scheduling or just bowing out
  4. do you mind sharing what the question was? I'm not interviewing there but I'm trying to prepare for all sorts of questions I may get
  5. I was checking the portal since they seem to use the same system as Yale and that's where I saw my rejection and I saw that it added an "awaiting" tab for scheduling an interview. Got the email a few hours later
  6. Fine Arts. I applied with a portfolio of only paintings so I am a little surprised given how multidisciplinary most of the student work is. At an info session they did say you can focus on one thing if you want though.
  7. Nevermind, just checked my portal and I got an interview with Rutgers!
  8. I'm just waiting to hear back from Rutgers and Cranbrook. I imagine Cranbrook might respond in March or late February since the deadline only just passed. Anybody know when Rutgers sends out requests/ rejections?
  9. Got an interview request for Carnegie-Mellon
  10. I do hope somebody in here makes it to the next stage with Yale!
  11. Yale updates have been posted! Just got my rejection
  12. don't know about Yale specifically but SAIC sent them late afternoon/early evening so that could be the standard
  13. I have a friend that's in her first or second year at Hunter and her work is figurative/representational. Not quite traditional but close. I think they have a bit of everything though from what I've seen
  14. Guys if you applied to SAIC PLEASE check your spam. I checked mine on a whim and I got an interview for the Painting department!!
  15. That's really good to know! I wish I had been able to visit but I had a super busy year
  16. What they said^ plus even though it's supposedly tuition free people ended up with mountains of debt. I don't remember if anybody is applying there but I've heard MICA isn't great either
  17. Applied in painting for: Yale Rutgers Carnegie Mellon (have heard some negative things about this program after applying so I don't know how I feel about that now) SAIC Cranbrook (app deadline hasn't passed yet) It's my first year applying and while I think I have a good portfolio I'm not so sure I did my best work on the apps since I finished them very last minute after my solo show.
  18. SAIC and Carnegie Mellon, also Cranbrook but the application deadline hasn't even come yet so that one is fine.
  19. I was frustrated waiting on one of my references to submit their letter just to realize that I put in the wrong email address for 3 of the schools....I hope my application doesn't get thrown out. I'm so embarrassed
  20. Does anyone who previously applied know when Rutgers and SAIC send out interview invitations?
  21. Thank you! Did you end up having interviews for the others? I feel comfortable answering questions about my work if I get an interview but I've heard it's good to ask them questions as well. I'm kind of blanking on what I could ask though
  22. I so feel that! This is my first time applying and I'm realizing I'm more nervous after submitting than I was before
  23. Anybody applying for Painting or applying to interdisciplinary programs as painters?
