Kinda crazy I still haven't heard from two schools? I'm sure both rejections, and I'm good with my plan for next year, but anyone still waiting on UC Irvine for poetry and Notre Dame as well?

For those reapplying (poetry applicants mostly, but also fiction), what is the consensus on samples? I'm sure I'll have new material by then, but creating a completely new 15-page portfolio of content schools have never seen seems unrealistic and ill-advised. I guess my question is what are thoughts on using some of the same material but with new material, and or bolstering it up? Michener specifically stating that they want your strongest work, and not necessarily just your newest. Hard distinction to navigate on my own.

looks like Michener (I'm assuming) interview went out for screenwriting, anyone know if they throw out interviews for poetry (or other disciplines) at around the same time?

This is really hard, and the numbers are just stacked against everyone. It is early on so I hope we can hold out hope, but as a lot of people said it does possibly take a few times. I've already written a whole new collection of poems that I'm more excited to share, than I was in December, so if anything I hope everyone can see a light in this bleak process. I'm banking on applying next year, and I'm happy with how much it pushed me, and how much stronger I've already become, but boy was this all more brutal than I thought it would be.

Manifesting Vandy results today. Lighting a candle, howling into the wind and so on...

I say this as lovingly as possible, but collectively there is just so much unknown at this time and so much out of one's control. I implore everyone to revel in that in a way that is possibly liberating and comforting as a reminder you did what you could to your best of your ability when you submitted, and only time will tell.

Anyone else losing it? I'm hoping we'll hear back from Cornell, WashU, and Vandy soon... today even would be awesome.

I applied to most of these too, but in poetry! Good luck to us both, hope we hear back sooner rather than later.

When do we think WashU and Cornell will release decisions? Or other Dec 1st applications I guess... I'm trying to scour for last year's information, but am running up short.
