  1. well everybody i think im calling it for myself 🫔 rejected from rutgers-camden and havent heard anything from brown (nor the multiple other soft rejections but whatever)-- ik technically brown's still up in the air but based on my stats so far i don't think it'll be happening for me. good luck to everybody still waiting on the last few schools and pls pls pls tell the thread where u end up accepting!! i'll definitely still be lurking out of curiosity. will update if i get off the university of florida waitlist-- not much abt UF on the spreadsheet nor on the draft fb group for some reason. i wonder why. it's fully funded, 27k/yr stipend, 1:1 teaching load, fab faculty, 3 yr program. do people just not want to move to florida that bad lol??
  2. pretty much googled "creative writing mfas with full funding and big stipends for international students" and went from there. turns out there's not too many to pick from. crossed out the ones with not-so-big stipends (international student visa = no extra part-time job to make ends meet) and the ones in locations i didn't love (with the caveat that if the prestige and/or cool faculty factor was high enough, "bad" location could be excused, eg- iowa). ended up with list of 18. applied to those.
  3. doubt we'll hear anything on saturday but hope brown / rutgers-camden decide to speak anyway 🤌 those are my only 2 left (excluding 6 soft rejections (still!))
  4. u of miami (fl) fiction interview via email in spreadsheet
  5. update: received incredibly kind follow-up email from current prof; 12 people on fiction waitlist, not officially ranked.
  6. also i 100% got too excited and misread the email here-- it's true that they accept 6ppl/yr (in fiction at least), but not sure how many on the waitlist (not sure why gradcafe wont let me edit the og post?) will ask in email of continued interest & update asap
  7. thanks everybody! i'm very surprised-- applied right out of undergrad and honestly sort of rushed it. was already making alternate plans for the future and only thinking of trying again a few years from now (defo not next year). but we shall see... edit:typos
  8. just got waitlisted at u of florida !! for fiction !! first (probably only!) non-rejection !! email says they accept 6 people in fiction per year and also waitlist 6.
  9. yoooo finally got my jhu rejection! shortest email out of any school so far
  10. brown if that still counts, rutgers-camden, u of miami, u of florida
  11. right!!!! i don't understand what's so difficult about emailing a rejection?! and i Really don't understand how they decide what order their "batches" are sent out in. literally shoutout to syracuse, michigan, and michener for at least being efficient with their cruelty lmao. i fear i sound rude complaining so much but also like. cmon.
  12. maybe we should start placing bets on what schools we think'll say something today. any guesses? i've assumed rejections but technically still haven't heard back from: JHU (still!), WashUstLouis, notre dame, iowa, NYU, UTexas NWP, rutgers-N, and last but not least UVA-- anybody else in a similar spot? still waiting on Brown, rutgers-C, UofMiami, and UofFlorida too. manifesting those šŸ™ edit:typo
  13. currently at 8? soft rejections, which feels like a crazy high number-- i'd have expected more "confirmed" rejections to have rolled in by now? hoping to get at least some of those this week (if only for the sense of closure). also manifesting we hear from rutgers camden soon šŸ™
  14. congrats on all the good news !! if u dont mind me asking what schools were u accepted/waitlisted/rejected from (aside from michigan) ?? i’m literally just nosy lol
