What do you think is the ideal number of schools to apply to.... i understand one needs to apply to as many schools as possible to maximize his chances but whats the ideal number of applications one can send out...given that every application needs lots of work and consideration to complete After researching i have 15 schools on my list...but i think its a bit too many...i was thinking of narrowing it down to around 8 schools...any advice? thanks everyone..

How easy is iwould it be to gain admission to a mechanical or an environmental engineering Phd program with a chemical engineering background...especially if the research interests are similar..
