I'm really nervous and excited to hear from Wyoming. Fingers crossed they release decisions soon!!!

Don't apologize!! We called a few weeks ago and now that the bigger schools are releasing their decisions, I know some spots may open up since many (I'm assuming) of the accepted FSU students are now being accepted at other places, too. I'd let them know their program is still your top and that you would accept an offer if it was given, here's what I said: " Hello! I hope all is well. I wanted to reach out and let you know that FSU is my top university, and if I were to be extended an offer for Fall 2025 off the waitlist, I would accept it wholeheartedly. After reading some of your student's work, I am extremely interested in participating in FSU's esteemed circle of talented writers— joining your cohort would be a dream! I hope admissions season is going well! Thank you, as always, for your consideration and communication thus far. Sincerely, Just an email, nothing too big or formal but cemented my interest.

Yes!!! When we zoomed he told me to let him know if I received any other offers or if I didn't want to go to the school anymore, so I wanted to let him know I am still DEFINITELY interested

Just sent FSU a letter of continued interest— fingers crossed for some good news before April 15th.

No Syracuse, but we keep pushing!!! Proud of everyone who applied. We're in this together.

Just a little vent! This past year I took on two big jobs in my undergrad's CWR department in order to gain more experience and (hopefully) make myself more of a competitive applicant this season. While I'm happy I am so involved in my campus creative writing community and do have an FSU waitlist under my belt, I am terrified of having exhausted myself for no acceptances. I'm aware of how rare it is to be admitted straight out of undergrad and I am SO thankful for the waitlist and the support of my amazing professors— I am just SO in my head. I knew application season would be tough, but I guess there's a difference between knowing and experiencing. Is anyone else dealing with this hopelessness? Wishing luck to everyone here, and I am so proud of everyone for all the hard work we do every day to follow our dreams.

My favorite professor attended a "nonprestigious" school and is now the chair of his department and a Fellow at UW-Madison and Iowa!! I applied to lower key schools too, but it's about the writing and the experience. Good luck!!!

There's still hope! I thought I wouldn't get accepted anywhere but I got waitlisted for FSU. You got this.

are there any other Wyoming hopefuls? my favorite writer went there for their mfa and I've fallen in love with UW, and laramie, based on the stories they told about it when I met them a few years back. the town seems beautiful, the program seems engaging and impactful, and the professors seem kind and talented. it truly is a dream program for me. also, read "laramie time" by lydia conklin— they wrote it during grad school!

I got a notification from Syracuse but it was only to say my letter of rec was approved. My heart nearly beat out of my chest and I'm STILL not recovered.

It's a nonfiction waitlist, so please don't lose hope!

what if theyre doing it backwards this year.... (probably not but I'm still trying to remain positive LOLLL)

I'm trying not to get too downtrodden by the JHU news— congrats to everyone who has been accepted/ waitlisted

Omg hello it's nice to hear I'm not alone! I applied to Wyoming, FSU, Arizona State, Iowa (for giggles), John Hopkins, North Carolina State, and Syracuse! What about you?

Hey everyone! It’s my first time applying for an MFA in fiction— I’ll be done with with undergrad in May. I was recently waitlisted at FSU (yay!) and had a Zoom with Mark Winegardner, the director of the program. He validated my writing which was incredible to experience and also explained FSU does not usually accept students fresh out of undergrad. Apparently, most schools like to accept applicants with life experience and diversified interests and careers. He was really honest and I appreciated the sentiments he made. I was most likely waitlisted due to my internships and experience with administrative work in the writing program at my college. Is anyone else applying out of undergrad/ applied before? The call both boosted my confidence and also made me fearful of how other schools I applied to will perceive me because of my age (22). My writing professors warned me that I will not likely receive any offers due to my age. I’m hopeful and terrified at the same time. Is anyone else feeling similar? Thank you for reading! Good luck everyone
