In that happy scenario, try to negotiate with the department offering the job to allow you to hold the postdoc first and then begin immediately afterward. This is rare but not unheard of. But ultimately, of course, take the permanent job over the postdoc.

Are there any sources to confirm that more awards will be offered this year? I know that the value of the SSHRC postdoc has increased but am curious if overall increase in awards has been reported.
