Congratulations dr.p!
Salut! When I was wait-listed for UofT's (Epi) MPH, they emailed me and stated they admit roughly 1/10 across their departments (with epi and health promotion being the most competitive). This is in line with other schools; McGill was about 1/15 and UBC 1/12 this year for MPH programs. From what I understand if you've been waitlisted they would have emailed you, although it's possible that you're still in the running and that the waitlist moved a lot this year (which would delay rejection letters since they don't want to reject people they might end up taking last minute) - so don't lose hope:)
As for me, I've accepted McGill's offer yesterday and will be attending this fall. Good luck to everyone and thank you for your advice!

i gasped walking up stairs when i was 20 so can't relate. but depression, yes i could relate to that
Are any of the rest of you having these snapped-back-to-when-you-were-20-and-could-run-up-stairs-without-gasping moments?

It was an open-house type of event for the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology. Sounded like a good event because there were faculty and students to answer questions.... plus they would have paid for travel and food (free food!)
There ws a Queen's thing yesterday? What was it?

Anyone end up going to the Queen's Annual Day today? I couldn't....still writing exams.

Speaking to some academic researchers doing public health and epi, they speak most highly of Toronto's program though. Just giving another perspective from academia side of things...
"Long time obsessive lurker here" too. I don't know anything about McGill's program other than their website, but I believe it has the best international reputation of any university in Canada (based on my friends in the US and Australia). They rejected me And I'm still waiting on U of T. Although I really didn't spend much time on their apps (McGill's was a nuisance) because I didn't really want to go to either place, but everyone needs a plan b, or c, or d... But another great university offered me a major scholarship, so it's all good But as you say, McGill's is a revamping of another program, so there shouldn't be too many hiccups. Let us know your thoughts on where you might go??!! Just curious about everyone's thought processes.

Can't agree more. My main deciding factor is also the interaction I'll be getting at the institute and who those interactions will be with.
Hey stars7,
I'm the same with D0M. I don't know too much about online programs, but what stopped me from applying to online programs was that I wanted real interactions and to get to know the people in the field. That's one of the main factors I'm using to make my decision on where I want to go.

Can't speak for the doctoral program, but the acceptances for Master's (epi) are out. Good luck everyone!

I've heard UT accepts 10 people, but I don't know if's that number is only in the epi specialization.
On the forums, people have posted getting acceptances and rejections from McGill as early as March 23rd. Does anyone know how many student McGill accepts in the epi Master's thesis program? Such an unnerving time....
I was told by UBC that they offered scholarships to their top 5 students, but I wasn't told how much those scholarships are. Does anyone know?
Did anyone apply/get accepted to McGill? How many students does U of T accept in their epi specialization?

Hi Kathryn. Congrats on McGill. I will be attending there, also for epidemiology. See you in the fall.
