If you don't get an email today (Friday), probably means rejection, yeah
-
I hate to be that guy, but it's April 15th, and all of us here who are waitlisted would be really thankful if you declined the offers you do not intend to accept!
-
Hey guys, I am still waitlisted at UMass. Just wondering, most people are going to be pulled from the waitlist around April 15th, when the official deadline comes?
-
Mich State has a very decent historic placement. More about it in the paper called "Where you earn your PhD matters" (2025). Yeah, they seem to be having a somewhat worse placement in the recent years, but this could be explained by the market/overall cohort strength or research interests, funding etc.
-
Just got waitlisted at UMass. Anyone else?
-
Hey everyone, saw that people reported rejections from UMass. I am still under review. Is it going to be the same story as with Minnesota where the other half of rejects gets their notification next week or do I have a shot at the waitlist?
-
How did you manage to get fee waivers as an international?
-
6 rejections in, 2 more to go 😁. Can you tell more about your profile and schools you applied to?
-
No, but the rejections are out and my file is still under review (same thing that happened with Minnesota)
-
Yeah, I just got it too. Very unfortunate, was my best fit. I have the same situation with the USC now
-
There is a couple possibilities what's happening. Could be the faculty negotiating funding with the grad school and holding the official decision until then. Could be the faculty being not uniform on the decision and giving our files a second review. Either way, it's better than being rejected outright. Shows that you're competitive for the program and not an easy reject. I wouldn't get my hopes high though, still a good chance it could be a rejection
-
Me too. Checked the portal, still under review. Good sign?
-
Someone reported rejection from Vanderbilt, anyone else? I didn't get anything and the status of the application is still submitted. Good sign?
-
Hopefully. The fit is really good (pol psych)
-
Saw someone report an acceptance from University of Minnesota. Anyone else? Haven't heard back from them, not a good sign
-
Looks like game's over for us . Their placement is not that strong but the faculty fit was great and the program is not hyper competitive. Really bummed about this
-
Someone reported an acceptance from Vanderbilt. Any news? Is it over or do they send acceptances in batches
-
-
We know that UW-Madison reduced their cohort size, WashU won't have a cohort this year, and I remember seeing couple programs not enrolling anyone in the theory subfield
-
If you don't get an acceptance email and the acceptance offers are out, you're probably waitlisted or rejected. Programs send out results in batches, acceptances first, rejections couple days later
-
Mind me asking how you got this information? I don't see how you'd know whether they sent out all of their offers and what the actual cohort size is like unless you're member of the faculty
-
yeah, grad cafe reports from previous years show a clear pattern: all acceptances first, all rejections couple days later. Still, there are cases when people got their offers couple days later than everyone else but the chances are we both won't be going to Madison this year
-
Looks like Wisconsin-Madison acceptance offers are out, didn't get any email or notification. Is this it or is there a chance they will send out more acceptances? AP Subfield
-
Not a good sign for me haha. Didn't hear anything from Vanderbilt yet, AP subfield. I also notified them about my manuscript being under review, didn't receive an answer either
