I'm applying to MFA programs (fiction) for the first time. I believe I am applying to 12 programs, give or take, once I wrap up editing my writing sample this week! I have a background in screenwriting (won awards at professional industry-standard competitions) (not student-level)), hold a 2024 BA in Creative Writing, and have interned at Penguin Random House.

Wait, how have I never heard of NC State when compiling my list for this year?! This sounds so fun with the faculty parties thrown

I heard it's truly about the writing sample, less about if you have previous works published or not.
