Clarrien got a reaction from snowshoes in NSERC 2012-2013
I'm happy to see posts in both OFFICIAL languages. How is it fair to always expect french speaking Canadians to write/speak in english when dealing with english speaking Canadians, and basically never have english speaking Canadians outside Quebec or Ontario (or small pockets in other provinces) write/speak in French? It is my problem I'm not confident in my french, but I am super tired of expecting french speaking Canadians to speak english for my benefit, it is embarrassing!

Clarrien got a reaction from vivaldi in NSERC 2012-2013
Vivaldi - in 2009, a friend of mine was first awarded the NSERC CGSD, and then got notification of the Vanier CGS a few weeks later, so he declined the NSERC CGSD. My understanding is that both can be awarded, but only one taken up. It makes sense, in the instance that if one applied for both, and got awarded both, but then decided they didn't want to go to the school that nominated them for the Vanier, since the Vanier isn't transferable, it would be possible to then decline the Vanier and take up the NSERC at another school.

Your university should have told you if they were forwarding or not. Ask your Faculty/College of Graduate Studies if you are unclear.
