I’ve been wondering how much specific cognitive abilities contribute to overall IQ performance long term.
Things like:
working memory
attention control
processing speed
pattern recognition
mental flexibility
Some people seem naturally strong in certain areas, while others improve a lot through repetition, habits, or cognitive exercises.
What makes this interesting to me is how uneven cognitive profiles can be. Someone might have strong verbal reasoning but weaker working memory, while another person is the opposite.
