Thanks for letting me know. It was pretty much one of my last hopes, yet it still says "No decision." I am in Tennessee so it would take a letter longer to get to me. Congrats again! It seems like a really wonderful school!

May I ask when you received the letter and where you are located? Sorry to pry, just hopeful one may make its way to me! Congrats!

Had to find out tonight while in class that I did not get into Tyler for printmaking. I forced my boyfriend into openning the letter to give me the bad news. I am giving the letter to my pyromaniac students tomorrow to burn.

This is a completely different department, but my Tyler application for printmaking also says "Completed, Ready for Review." Perhaps that really doesn't mean that we haven't been looked at, but perhaps it just means BEING review??

I hope they continue making calls tomorrow. I might have to buy a bucket of ice cream for myself if I don't hear from Rutgers soon.

Still nothing either, Scolby?? This week is the new last week, with the hope that ANYTHING will happen.

I appled for printmaking to a few of those schools ( Tyler and Rutgers and UCLA for a different one) and I have yeat to hear a single word from any school. Have you heard anything either? I am so scared of not getting into Tyler, it is the one that would truely hurt if rejected. Do you know anything about Rutger and Tyler's acceptance rate for printmaking specifically? Printmakers applying to Tyler: Any word at all? Are they a super competitive program? They were one of my less competitive schools I applied to so I am getting nervous...

That article is AMAZING! The kids will LOVE it too. I am doing printmaking right now with my high schoolers, which is exciting since that was my concentration in undergrad. We are doing relief with linoleum, and they seem to be enjoying it aside from cutting their hands every two seconds. I get formally evaluated teaching next week, so hopefully I will be able to focus more so on that than this forum or checking application statuses.

My anxiety has now turned to irritation that I have not heard a single thing from a single school out of ten, including ones that have started interviewing. They could at least let us know that we should give up and focus on the remaining schools. Selfish, I know, to be so focused on myself when they have thousands of others to deal with. Last Sunday I told my boyfriend that I just KNEW this past week would be THE week. Haha! But I am saying it again this Sunday: THIS WILL BE THE WEEK. Something will happen THIS week. Hang in there Scolby! We will get word soon.

I am so sad about not hearing from Berkeley or Northwestern. I realize they were out of my reach being less than a year out of undergrad and all, but it is still painful. I have yet to hear a SINGLE word from any schools. Nothing has changed in a month with any of my statuses online. Oh another weekend approaching where we all just check this forum and anxiously await the new week with possibilities of any clue to our future...

Scolby, I can definitely relate! I hope things start to look up for all of us. I am just going to start applying for teaching positions as a back up even though I am pretty sure I would be unhappy. Also, that list you compiled is a great help and a wonderful resource. Thanks for posting it and hopefully it will be an indicator for the next month.

Akap, noooooooooooo, Nothing from Berkeley. What about you? Not a single word from a single school for me. I do realize it is still early, but I am slowly going insane. I teach this year and am very busy, but it has yet to stop me from obsessing about this forum or checking school sites constantly. I am rethinking my decision to apply to such competitive places. I have a feeling I may have to reapply next year. Vermillion, thanks for the info! Sorry, it probably was somewhere obvious I overlooked.

lisad333, you and I both applied to Rutgers. I am printmaking as well. Do you, or anyone else, know ANYTHING regarding Rutgers? I cant seem to find much, not even anything regarding what their acceptance rate typically is or when they send admissions/rejections??

I just graduated undergrad at UT Knoxville, and I cannot say enough about how lucky I am how things worked out for me. Beauvais Lyons, Koichi Yamamoto, as well as the new addition of Althea Murphy-Price make for a wonderful print program. The facilities are pretty good, however, unlike all other undergrads I never got to have a studio, the only downfall of undergrad there. Each fall we have a Print and Cermaics sale, which 20 percent of the profits for prints go towards the funding of SGC, which is always the highlight of every year. I am applying at ten schools this year ( print/book arts and just studio mfa programs) and while I am certain the names on my application will get me far to an extent, it is now all on me to make this happen. Any questions about UTK I will answer and answer truthfully. Best of luck, fellow printers!

Has anyone else been trying UIC's application status and had problems? Could this mean major updates?

This process has been the most draining thing I have ever done. I am currently student teaching high schoolers, and there is a nice comfort in my students anxiety awaiting undergrad results as I await grad school results. I applied to the following: UC Berkeley UCLA USC UC San Diego Northwestern Rutgers University of Illinois Chicago Columbia College Chicago Tyler University of the Arts Ten total. Not a word yet, except there was a problem with my electronic portfolio for UC San Diego that I am fixing now. Best of luck to everyone !
