  1. Mike!! I was going to slap you if you didn't go to UCLA. Congrats! And congrats to our paper (mainly yours) which will shortly be in press in JEP! I promised my mom I would print the article out and explain it to her. Looks like I'm headed to U Michigan - Joint PhD in Psychology & Women's Studies.
  2. Random, but ... my master's thesis is based off of Kornell & Bjork's 2008 article (enemy of induction). Congrats on getting in! Bjork is one of the Kings in the spacing literature. By the way, did you graduate from Villanova? [Mike???]
  3. Everytime I go onto thegradcafe.com I see ads for University of Phoenix. I think it's a sign... My mom would be so happy if I moved back home and worked on my PhD from my bedroom.
  4. Hey, I haven't heard from FSU's social psych either. By chance, when was your friend accepted to the clinical? I had a friend just go to the interview last week and had a phone interview yesterday, so I am hoping she finds out soon.
  5. Hey everyone, For those of us who have been rejected from the Social Psych program at Purdue, don't take it too personally. I found out over a month ago that the department had budget cuts and only two professors (Wegener and I forget the second) were able to take a student. I didn't want to post it on here then, because I didn't want people to get all worried or utterly bummed like I was. Thus, I thought I'd post this information now to potentially help those who are bummed like I am and to help put things into perspective. On another note, is anyone else out there accepted to CSU's applied social program?
  6. Dearest ShaperImage, I will be the one with the long bangs covering my glass eye. I will be drunk the entire weekend, hope you don't mind the smell of Mad Dog 20/20. Also, hope you don't mind if I puke on your sweater... multiple times. We sound like we'll really hit it off, can't wait to meet you!
  7. I'll be at Boulder! O M G see you there!
  8. Hey everyone, It seems like a lot of us were waitlisted at Tufts for social psych. From my understanding (back in Nov) the program was potentially accepting 2 students, I wonder if they are planning to take more, since there are so many of us waitlisted. Whichever, the generic waitlist email said our applications were "highly regarded," so congrats!
  9. kettch23, So jealous you get to spend Valentine's day weekend with the dreamboat/rockstar/Mr. Yale NeuroGuy.
  10. I will also be at SPSP. I am presenting Friday morning at 8:30. Send me a message if anyone you wants to meet up and chat/vent/enjoy sun instead of checking this forum.
  11. NeuroGuy, you seem like such a dreamboat. I can't believe you got into Yale! [swooning]
  12. Starlight, I'll be the one with the red carnation pinned to my sweater, that way you'll know who I am. -- Ammo
  13. Starlight!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on U Mich -- I hope you go there! haha.
  14. Not sure if the person who posted this, will ever read it.... But congrats on getting into Villanova's master's program! I'm currently finishing my degree there; it's a great program.
  15. Thanks! It was me. I am not sure if all of the acceptances have gone out, so still have hope. I was accepted into the joint PhD in Women's Studies and Personality & Social Contexts Psychology.
  16. I checked again (twice this morning, haha).
  17. Hey everyone, I am happy to have found this forum. I also applied to social psychology programs. I've been checking the studentdoctor.net site in case anyone is social was posting on there, but no luck. As for WashU, I am sorry to hear you two were rejected. I also applied to WashU, but haven't heard anything yet (email, letter, or on the application status page). How were you two contacted? So far I haven't heard back from any of the schools I've applied to and it looks like a lot of us are applying to the same schools with the same interests (stereotyping and prejudice).
