waiting_it_out

Hey slickwillbo, do you think that GA Tech sends out invites to different batches at different times? Seems like a bunch of invites went out on Friday (02/06). I got a reject from JHU on Friday, and they sent out invites on Thursday. So I'm not sure if I should be expecting rejection from GA Tech or still be hopeful??? since you are an undergrad there, I thought you may have some inside info on that....I have such a hard time concentrating on anything at work.....checking my emails has become an obsession and I"m so frustrated at this point...I haven't heard back from any of my other schools exept the JHU reject....please let me know if you do know anything...Thanks!

Okay, so GA Tech HAS sent out their invites...that means I'm out of there too...Its going to be a rejection for sure because I think they send their invites out on the same day since two people seem to have gotten it on the same day in this forum....this is so frustrating!!!

Having been rejected by JHU, I'm beginning to lose hope for GA Tec...I mean its up there in the top with JHU in the ranking right? How different could their selection criteria be? I do think that by next week we'll know from most schools if its going to be at least an interview or a definite "no". All of a sudden, I'm extremely nervous and not sure if I want to face the reality at all!! I'm actually opening my inbox on Monday morning...

Hey the_student: Thanks for the encouragement...I'm going to try to forget about it during the weekend....But I just can't seem to stop myself from checking the results submission..just found out that there has been an invite from GA Tech....really, this whole thing is getting to me....this waiting sucks...and you are right....being on F1 does have its disadvantages applying to these top schools...

I'm an international student too, but I did my undergrad in the US. I haven't heard back from anywhere yet and its a bit nerve wrecking....not a bit...a lot..especially when I see that JHU has started sending out invites...so has UC Irvine and WashU....I'm losing hope by the minute...and re-thinking having applied to only 6 schools!!! JHU has started sending out ivites I think...there have been 3 submissions already...one from an American, 2 Internationals (one with US degree and another without)!!! ....looks like couple of them received the invitations today...maybe its not time to panic yet...but I'm beginning to!!

So JHU has started giving out invitations??? Oh man...but I noticed it is an international student without a US degree!!! So maybe the domestics and the other international students aren't yet invited yet?? anybody heard from JHU?

I read what you said about international students hearing back first and it seems as if you are right.......the thing is, I AM an international student with a US degree and if you are right then....urgh.....so that's partly the reason for the freakout....anyhow, my inbox is still empty as of now....do you think its a good idea to email the graduate coordinator and find out if all the invites have been sent out or not? or does that border on pestering at this point of time...maybe i should wait a week before I do that?

Okay so I just saw an acceptance from Washington University in St. Louis....it was given out Friday, the 31st....that's the first from one of the the schools I applied to...I did have high hopes on WashU.....that's not a good sign, right?? I mean...that's bad, isn't? I'm beginning to really freak out now....

Congrats freshprince!!! that was freaky...that we were just talking about it and you get an invite within 5 minutes ...I didn't apply to UCSD....all my schools seem to be really slow in getting back ...but its nice to see more people in the forum.. Hey ealkjhljha, you have a very hight MCAT score...I'm suprised you did't get into any medical schools....But just curious, why do you think that is? Are you by any chance an International student? Did you send your MCAT scores to the biomedical engineering schools also? I know Duke accepts MCAT scores as well...

Good to know that I'm not the only one checking my emails every 10 minutes like a freak!!! I feel like i'm a nervous wreck!!! But as fresh prince mentioned, we may not hear from the other schools until after Feb 1st...Let's keep our hopes up....I'm glad to know that you've applied to couple of schools I applied to, Daddys_girl!! I hope and pray that I get into Duke and/or GA Tech!!

Congrats freshprince!! BU and UT Austin are great schools...so you don't have interviews from these schools then? straight acceptances? That's really nice..... I've applied to WUSTL, Hopkins, Duke, Carnegie mellon, UC Irvine and Georgia Tech...I haven't heard from anywhere yet and i'm getting really really nervous...my life seems to revolve around these forums and I'm not seeing many people post results in here....I was checking out the last year's post and seems like there were quite a bit of posts by this time....I do'nt know what's going on...so do you think that the BME interviews are just a little later than the sciences in any case?

So Is this the official BME thread in grad cafe? How come no one's posted anything yet???
