  1. Thanks for your feedback. It is really difficult for international students like me to really get to grips with it. I think you need a mechanical brain, whereas my strong points aren't there. I'm a a law grad, so numeracy isn't my strong point at all, But I did do well in the writing section I got a 5. Anyway fingers crossed, if anything, at least I can say I gave it a shot
  2. I didn't do very well in my gre exam although I have good experience in politics. It's making me doubt any acceptance we don't do any kind of gre exams in the uk.
  3. I think we'll get our letters informing us if were accepted or not. Those who are accepted will probably get a later email saying that they were accepted or declined for financial aid. I have to say I got a bad feeling about my application hope others get in!
  4. There isn't any interviews. Maybe for PHD's but definitely not MPP.
  5. No one here has had any kind of interview as far as i'm aware.
  6. Seriously people we need to stop arguing. Why not make a facebook group that way we actually know who were talking too?
  7. I know the waiting is killing me too. I just want to know if I get in or not, so that I can use my time and energy productively. It's like the world has stopped. I think it makes sense for it to come out next week or even the week after. Why would it take so long? I think they start assessing the applications as soon as they come in and don't generally wait until the deadline to review them. Just a thought.
  8. My friend told me that the emails are coming out next week. She said that her friend told her. Don't know if it's true since I heard it down the grape vine so to speak.
  9. I do believe Elsa's comments are more out of order then Kaka's. So what if he thinks he could get in. I think everyone who applies thinks they have a shot in getting in otherwise what's the point of applying. Everyone needs to just take a breather, especially Elsa. Seriously, you made the matter far worse then what it was. Plus, the person who he initially offended by Kaka's remark, should have spoken up. Elsa you're equally as bad as Kaka I think.
  10. ok people... let's take a minute to breathe.. I read what Kaka wrote and I too did think it was slightly pretentious but sometimes when someone is really passionate about something it can come across as aggressive, when they may not be. I think we should give KaKa a break. If he gets in, it should be based on his skills and nothing else. Whether we like people or not, achievement should not be defined by personality but by hard work. So peace to you all. I hope we all get in
  11. Hey all, Yeah I got the same financial aid letter too. I called Harvard about three weeks ago just to make sure that they had received my financial aid statement, because that email got me slightly worried. Anyhow, the person I spoke too said that they had received everything and that the emails sent out is purely administrative - it goes out to everyone whose applied. So unfortunately, it really doesn't say anything about us receiving a place or not. As for the fellowships, my application was exactly the same to all the ones I applied too. I thought there was no point of making different ones, so I don't think its much too stress about as most of us have pretty much done the same. I assume former students did that too as it seems to make more sense. Anyhow, fingers crossed for everyone. I'd be so happy if at least one of us gets in!!! Good luck everyone. The deadline is drawing nearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. You can actually feel it!
  12. I think we're all in the same boat, and i'd imagine now that receiving these emails doesn't actually mean we have already got the place! Fingers crossed though for all of us.
  13. Yeah I know it makes you think that if they didn't like your application etc, why would they bother waste their time to find out your financial situation. But that said today I received another email reminder (not sure if anyone else did - if you have let me know) and on the bottom it says the following: "Review of your financial aid status is done independent of the review of your application for admission and therefore receipt of this email should not be construed as suggesting the likelihood of any particular admission decision." so basically, I think it's quite doubtful that if we got these emails, it means were going to get a place. Technically it's a 50% chance, it's a yes or no. lol.
  14. The sooner you do it, the quicker they'll process it. I hope we all get in.
  15. Yeah it applies to HKS only. Basically I received an email with regards to funding as I am an International Student, and they responded with an email which stated I may be eligible to apply for financial aid (which I applied for), and I also ticked several boxes relating to fellowships. For each fellowship I had to submit my cv and essay. I think you should get in contact with them. You may have not applied for it. Also here's a link: http://www.hks.harvard.edu/degrees/sfs/prospective-students/fellowships-scholarships/intl/hks-affiliated#heading_03 check it out. I thought that every one received the same email
  16. I actually got the email for financial aid letter during December 15th, I completed it, but I also applied for fellowships which I hadn't completed and I received an email saying this should be completed by the 24th of Feb. I think it was just a standardised response for international students.
  17. Hey all, Has anybody received a request to complete the financial aid form. I've already filled out the main HKS forms but haven't finished the fellowship ones?
  18. Thanks soooo much for that. It's really nice of you to have taken the time to write this. Although I have to say I would have appreciated it more if I had read it before I applied. Oh well
  19. I'm sorry if they reject someone with skills and experience like yours then they are so narrow minded. GRE scores aren't difficult with practice. I think they look at your potential to be a future leader, i'm sure they get loads of people who have wonderful GRE scores etc, but what makes them stand out is their story and experience. Yours definitely stands out. I think you have a good chance.
  20. I have no idea. I just followed the link landed me here That said, has anybody been offered any kind of interview, even if it is on the telephone or does HKS not do that?
