I know, I am anxious about those two. As for UCR, I sent an email last week to the coordinator because there was not check mark under "Being reviewed " or "decision available." I got an email back from the DGS saying that they had forwarded my file to the grad division for an approval for admissions. I got a follow up email from POI.

Why? Perhaps this is only my perception, since they are the only schools where I applied.

I killed myself studying for the GRE Lit test. Aftering talking with several POI and admissions people, they said its one of the items of lower importance. What one english grad dept. head told me was It will make a difference if you do astoudingly well, or astoundingly poor. -

Anyone else frantic that they could have misspelled something on thier SOP or application? I reviewed mine so many times and found the little errors (spelling, syntax, and word choice) every time.

Yeah, most of the schools I applied to (UCs) said they would not be doing interviews. I don't know why science and math depts churn the decisions out so much quicker. I thought there would be few applicants. I really can't imagine there is a huge number of english PhD applications, at least in this economy--everyone I know seems to tell me I am insane.
