  1. Congrats Tweety! I hope I can join you!
  2. Tweety, he' s been pretty responsive to my emails (he even remembered that I'm for the Korea ETA even though I didn't mention it in my email) but I found that he is not er...not really helpful. When I asked how I would know if my transcript was received and how to follow up, he just said that there's no one they can keep track of everyone's email. :/ Keep trying though but at this point, I don't think he has much information to divulge.
  3. Just emailed Jonathan Akeley for East Asia. Wasn't able to give me any concrete dates but he said that Korea ETA have been released early to mid April (just like last year's spreadsheet) so I guess we have only a few more weeks to go...
  4. I checked the googldoc yesterday morning and noticed two acceptances for Laos and Korea but they have since been deleted. Was that just a fluke or mistake? Sorry to sound nosy but did anyone for Asia receive their results yet?
  5. Hehe, this forum just got so Korea intense! Tweety how did you find out that Korea already made their decision? It just seems odd because what if you weren't able to send in your transcript until today? I hope this means we'll get the news by next month though.
  6. Hi tweety! I'm also a Korea ETA finalist! Congrats!
  7. Thanks for your input as it was reassuring. I guess all there is left now is to wait! By the way, anyone else a finalist for South Korea?
  8. Does anyone have any clue about the academic profile of a successful Fulbright ETA candidate? Obviously there is no singular answer to this, but I personally am quite skeptical that I have what it takes to be accepted. I'm only asking this because I am doing an honors thesis and if I get the Fulbright, I have to finish it this semester, as opposed to completing it in the fall. I don't think my academic record is spectacular (3.7 overall) , 3.6 Economics (UC Berkeley). I have some internship experience (US Dept of Treasury, US commercial service, and private sector internships) and I studied abroad for a year in Paris. I do think my essays and letters of recs are good, but have no exceptional accomplishments. I know the obvious answer might be to assume the worst and plan accordingly, but that means a lot of extra effort (Extra classes, data collection for thesis, job/internship applications) to prepare for it. If my profile seems banal let me know!
  9. Cheers to that! Good luck to everyone!
  10. Hello all! First time poster. I applied for a Fulbright ETA to South Korea and received my email tonight confirming that my application has been recommended by IIE to the agency abroad. Just curious if all you who said that you are "finalists" received this email. Does that make me a "finalist" or ( I think) do I still have to wait until April/May to find out for sure if I receive the grant?
