  1. Rutgers New Brunswick? They had interviews on Feb 20th, six people attended, all accept one were applying to work with Laurie Rudman or Diana Sanchez (as they were the faculty planning to take students). In the end Diana decided she couldn't take a student this year (due to getting a fellowship that will require her to live in NYC for the next year). I believe Laurie notified the student/s she decided to take. So yeah, I believe they only accepted 1-3 students in the end.
  2. Yeah, it did hurt. I have been accepted to schools that have a stronger program than Santa Cruz, but it just seemed like such a cool place. I think they had a lot of funding issues this year due to budget cuts to the University. Doesn't make it any easier though to be rejected.
  3. My guess is a lot of schools are going to be slower this year in notifying students about the funding packages, but not all schools are going through the same situation. Within a week of my acceptance letter to U Michigan they had sent me a letter explaining the amount of funding I would receive for the next five years. At Wisconsin on the other hand, I have been accepted, told I will definitely be funded, but have no detailed information yet on the funding package.
  4. Yeah, I am really hoping Santa Cruz moves faster than the website says. That is probably the only school on my list that might sway me away from Michigan. I have a feeling though that even if I do get in they won't offer me enough money to make it possible for me to go there. UCSC has had multiple funding cuts this year by the state.
  5. The anxiety is starting to drive me nuts. I heard from a few schools about interviews and acceptances three weeks ago, and since then I have heard nothing from the other schools I applied. I just want to know all my options so I can make a freaking decision! Hope everyone is hanging in there. This whole waiting game will be over eventually.
  6. I didn't apply to Brandeis this time around, but just wanted to let you know that they tend to be super slow about getting back to people. Two seperate years they were the last school I heard from. The second time (I was applying for their masters program) they called me in late May to tell me they were reviewing my application and wanted to know if I had any questions about the program. I had already accepted a position at Villanova, so I told them not to bother looking at my application anymore.
  7. Either you are a friend in my program, or you just happened to have applied to all the same schools, and have been accepted and invited to interviews at the same schools as my friend. Do you want to shread the gnar perhaps?
  8. Hahahah congrats to you too Ammo! See you at recruitment weekend!
  9. Hey Weeble! Thanks for the information about Penn State. Do you know if they are doing any sort of interviews? I was very surprised that U Mich send out acceptances without so much as a phone interview. Wisconsin I at least had a phone interview before they accepted me.
  10. Hey all. One of my friends told me about this site. I applied to 9 PhD programs (almost all of them social). My research interests are in gender, sexuality, and stereotyping. I am glad to see that the programs I have heard nothing about are programs that no one on here have talked about hearing anything from. The programs I applied to are: University of Michigan (accepted to Personality and Social Context program) University of Wisconsin (accepted to Developemental program) Rutgers University (Interview on 2/20 for Social program) University of Missouri (Invited to interview, but declined) UConn Penn State UC Santa Cruz University of Washington University of Vermont Good luck everyone!!
