I was accepted to the MPhil in Material Anthropology and Museum Ethnography. It's a doctoral track program (two years MPhil, leading to two years DPhil - research degrees). I guess we'll know about potential funding when we get acceptance letters from individual colleges. Also, I am still waiting on Clarendon and Weidenfeld scholarship decisions, although I don't really expect to win those; I think only five Americans will get the Weidenfeld. FYI, I'm American, graduating this year from UCSB with a bachelors in sociocultural anthropology. Cheers.

I haven't heard a word yet. My friend was informally accepted to the Masters program in Archaeology. Her POI emailed her with congratulations, but she hasn't received an official letter.

Wow. That's pretty cool! I haven't heard a thing yet . . .and I'm in Santa Barbara too!
It can be even more complicated than that. I applied for an Mst in Archaeology. I just heard yesterday (Jan 19th) via an email from a professor who congratulated me for my acceptance and went on to describe a course she taught that she thought would fit with my interests.
She prefaced the letter by saying, " I am writing to congratulate you on your acceptance to the Oxford Mst programme! If you haven't already, you should be receiving official notification very soon."
I know that the decisions were made for the first round of applicants on Jan. 14th but as of today, Jan. 20th, still nothing official via post.
If you get in next year, how old will you be when you start your PhD?
