UCSD has its visit day on March 10 and 11, so I assume most of the admits would have been sent by this date. I got the admit email from the chair of the admission committee almost a week back but I don't think it was a mass email. So they might still be sending offers. Good luck!

Well, I hate to say this, but seems like they are done admitting. I've heard that they have a small waitlist, but I'm not sure how it works (MIT also has one, but apparently only a couple from ~60 gets picked). If you are in it, there might still be hope. From what I heard from a source, this year the competition was extremely intense - they had ~3200 applications and admitted approximately 4%.

You were looking at the wrong place. You should have looked at graduate school rankings - UC Berkeley's graduate program in CS is ranked #1 (along with CMU, MIT and Stanford). http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-science-schools/computer-science-rankings Having said that, for a PhD, what you should be looking at is the research work, and compatibility with your advisor rather than rankings.

UCSD - March 10, 11

I believe MIT's "take out the trash" day is today going by last year's trend...
-
It was an email from the graduate admissions chair.

Does anyone know when UMass has its visit days? My admit email doesn't say anything about this.
-
Yes, I had two.

I don't know if all admits have been sent, but the admission email I received was from the committee chair. I'm not sure if Berkeley has a waitlist. You could definitely contact your interviewer. If you explain your situation politely, I'm sure you'll get a response.

Awesome! congrats! According to some insider information at MIT, they had record number of applications this year (some 3000). I don't understand why they keep us waiting to send the rejects.. it's so brutal!
-
Congrats to you Azazel! :-) So MIT, Stanford and UC Berkeley... awesome !
-
Seems like this was a mass mailing as in the case of MIT. I got one.
-
Wow excellent! Congrats!!

Seems like the MIT chapter is closed. The admission committee meeting happened on 4th according to the calendar, and there are no more rounds: http://eecscal.mit.edu/Pages/CalendarViews/MonthView.aspx?RoomId=3&Date=2/10/2011+12:00:00+AM

Oh sorry to hear that Lanchka. But I'm sure you'll have an offer from Berkeley
-
Congrats Azazel and others who got into MIT!
-
Hmm... looking at the result search, seems like Berkeley decisions are right around the corner. Lanchka, was that you?
-
Which area did you apply to? To my knowledge, CSD has sent out all the admits. The open house is on Feb 25-26.
-
The info I gathered from some of the people who got calls was that it lasts anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.
-
Thanks for the info! Best of luck to you!
-
Azazel, you had interviews with 2 professors? How did it go? Did they know that you are being interviewed by the other?
-
If they follow last year's pattern, I guess the admit emails will be sent out in a day or two. All the best to everyone waiting to hear back from UC Berkeley!
-
Don't know if it's necessarily ominous. There has been instances where people have been admitted without being interviewed. Best of luck
-
@Azazel and Lanchka, good luck! I think Berkeley is following the same pattern as last year - Feb 10 admit emails, and then a week later mass rejects
-
Cool! How did the interview go?
