Hey everyone-
I just wanted to see who was planning on visiting the schools they were accepted to before the April 15th deadline, and what you were planning on asking.
There is probably a old topic about this very subject, but I feel it is important to resurrect as we have heard from most, if not all, of the schools we applied to and are starting the decision process.
I have meetings with two POIs this upcoming month, and boy am I nervous!
I have a questions regarding etiquette for schools that I haven't heard from. So far I have heard from every school EXCEPT NYU, Columbia, and Rutgers.
I know for Columbia that means I am probably rejected, as it seems they didn't take the time to send out decisions to all applicants. Is it safe to assume I should E-mail the Graduate Secretary?
Has anyone heard from NYU or Rutgers?
Congrats everybody! I am so excited for you all!
I agree. I would LOVE to go there. I should have never found out about this website! It is so mhch more discouraging with that darn results page than just good ol' waiting. Haha.
Congrats to the UT European acceptances!
That was one of my top choices, and I haven't heard from them. I hope this doesn't mean what I think it does...
I received an E-mail a few weeks ago from the Professor I applied to work with at Columbia asking me to elaborate more on my language capabilities. I did, he thanked me, and i haven't heard from Columbia since. Seeing as decisions have been given out, I guess this means I'm rejected.....
Any opinions? I was really hoping for a positive reply from Columbia, or any reply at all.
It's rare that I come across somebody with (sort of) similar research interests, or at least area! That is great that you are contextualizing the Roma population within the war as they are way too often forgotten.
My research interests also lie withing Former Yugoslavia, specifically Bosnia. I am concerned with how and why Islam became a marker of identity for the (now) Bosniak people. More than focusing on the precepts of the religion itself, I want to explore the specific shift in identity from Bosnian (Bosanac) to Bosniak (Bošnjaštvo).
