I see.... From reading threads on here and CC my understanding is that there is usually a one week delay from when the decisions are made and put on your file to when official notifications come out. So based on what you have been told the decisions should be made by now, which then begs the question how come the person you talked to didn't tell you the decision on your application? What did s/he say when you asked if they can tell you the decision on your application? not yet decided?!!
Just saw a Stanford EE reject and a Berkeley EECS reject (via Other?) on gradcafe thread. I don't know if these are spam or not but everything seems to be very different from last couple of years especially for Berkeley. I don't think I have seen enough EECS admits on gradcafe to conclude that Berkeley has sent out all of its admits but from last years threads this is very late for Berkeley (usually the rejects were out by Feb 15th).
In an attempt to lower the anxiety on here let me say this: Stanford usually has a big second wave of admits (without funding) late Feb to early March. Also, the Feb 23rd deadline that tfc mentioned is a good sign, they prolly want to get replies from stellar applicants (who get in almost everywhere) to adjust the remaining # of slots before they send out the 2nd wave. Good luck everyone!
bastards surely do take their time .... I am tired of F5ing college confidential, gradcafe forum and gradcafe results every 5 minutes dawn to midnight.....
I haven't heard from Berkeley or MIT EECS so I am preparing myself for a reject, I guess this year the competition was tough.... I am hoping at least I will get into Stanford EE without funding
Seems like Berkeley and MIT EECS admits are being finalized this week. Good luck everyone! Please post your stats and area if you receive the good news.
Just saw one post on gradcafe recent results page from a F11 Berkeley EECS admit with stipend in VLSI / embedded systems...... also one from someone who was interviewed for EECS in Jan 23rd...... it is not clear what is going on with Berkeley this year.....
I have seen ~10 Stanford EE admits online so far which prolly means a good percentage of the usual quota (~150-200) have been admitted so there is a chance that all the fellowships/financial aid packages are already gone. Plus I think Stan EE started sending out admissions quite earlier than last year. That being said, I am getting worried a little.....
