so I previously contact georgetown to find out whether or not I had been accepted into their government ph.d. program in addition to the security studies program. they e-mailed me back pretty quickly with a no, however I get this mysterious e-mail a week later: The Government department hasn't made a decision yet in your case. You might try contacting them directly to see if they can offer any details. Best, Georgetown Graduate Admissions ...this e-mail is from the general graduate admissions and the previous e-mail I got was from someone specific...so I'm not holding my breath...but has anyone gotten an official rejection letter in the mail? I'm wondering if I was wait listed or something of that sort.

I've heard now from the security studies department, but still not about aid...any word on aid?

...I'm still waiting on MIT for poli. sci. they sent rejections and acceptances a long time ago...I'm wondering if mine got lost.

can anyone give any suggestions about affordable housing in the georgetown area... I want to live close to campus, but I'm not sure if I have that kind of bank.

that I know GW hasn't released any MA results positive or negative yet. As for which school it depends I think a great deal on what type of work he/she wants to do in the future. The d.c. schools have some obvious advantages in terms of future government job opportunites, however WUSTL has such a great academic program...so it's hard to say without more information.

I still haven't heard about the MA from GW, got an MA acceptance from Georgetown still waiting to hear about the Ph.D. part.

I recently was accepted into Georgetown's security studies program, but haven't heard back from the Ph.D. side of the joint program I applied. Anyone else in the same boat? Also, has anyone heard back from GW IR masters? Thanks, cdehn305
