  1. Congratulation! That is excellent news. Jealous that the waiting is over for you.
  2. The BU stats page lumps everyone together, which is not very helpful. I wish they would at least seperate the doctoral from masters students. Or maybe break it out by program It would be helpful for measuring myself to the student body for GREs etc... I know it wouldn't really mean a thing, but gosh it would be nice to know how I measure up! Especially during these times of mixed self-doubt and self-confidence. March cannot come soon enough!
  3. That does stink. Well look at the bright side, at least you know definitively that the waiting will be over soon. I know it doesn't help. I'd be going bonkers knowing that.
  4. mlle, I know where you are coming from. This waiting process is really starting to take a toll. I was home sick from work yesterday and I must have walked down to the mailbox a half a dozen times waiting for the mail to arrive. I had to come to work today even though I feel like crap, just so I wouldn't sit around think about it and lurking on the board waiting for new posts and results to show up.
  5. My backup plan is to stay at my current job, that I love. I'll continue doing research, crank out a few more publications and reapply next year. I'll probably apply to a few more schools next year.
  6. Waiting on BU... and waiting and waiting and waiting...
  7. Here are the stats they report for 07-08: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/about/enrollment-degrees/ Anything to keep me from working on my manuscripts.
  8. I have to agree, interaction with other students is invaluable. I went straight from undergrad to MPH and the discussions with older students about their practical experience was enlightening. I had one online course - a terrible sample size - that met in person twice during the semester. It was my least favorite course. We had homework, online group discussions, and a group project, very similar to my land based courses, but something was missing. If you have to work full-time and moving is not really an option, then I guess it is a good substitute, but I'd much prefer land based to online learning. That's my 2 pennies worth.
  9. HA, I stand corrected, what I meant to say was out of the 40+ schools of public health, there are only a few results posted for a PhD in Epi. So I think there's still a chance for us.
  10. Finally I don't need to go hunting all over the board to find my Public Health friends. Also waiting
  11. I applied for a PhD in Public Health, epidemiology for Fall 09. I have not heard back yet, but do not expect to hear back until late February. I spoke to some one in the department after I heard from admissions that they received my application. Department said I should hear by March. I noticed on the results borad that there are no PhD in Public Health results yet. I see this as a good sign. Good luck to all the PhD applicants out there. I feel your pain waiting this out. I'm checking this board all to regularly in the past week. I don't expect that to change until I get word. :?:
