  1. Did anyone else here apply to the MPP EP (evening program)? I wonder if there will be any money left over at the end for us. They say on the website there is no scholarship money for EP students but maybe that's just to scare people away (I can dream, can't I?)
  2. Is anyone else considering going back to school part-time and keeping their current job? Are there others out there considering the same? I'm wondering what people see as the pros and cons of this arrangement. Here's how I see it: The Good: Steady Income. This is a big one for me. Employer tuition assistance. Some are more generous than others, but this can also be a huge help. The Bad: Hectic schedule. 40+ hrs of work plus two classes a week can get tiring. Longer time to complete degree. Not eligible for many fellowships/assistantships. Lose out on some of the "community" feel of a grad school school environment. Can only attend schools in a reasonable commuting distance from work. For me, that means only DC schools. Does anyone see any others? Are there certain schools (for me, I'm in the DC area) that are better than others for a part-time MPP?
  3. Got my official acceptance letter from GWU in the mail yesterday... "The applications for University Fellowships [...] have been reviewed, and I regret to inform you that we are not able to offer you an award."
  4. For those who have received the "unofficial" admit email from GPPI, has your status on applyyourself changed yet? Mine still just says "submitted." I wonder when we can expect the official acceptance letter...
  5. I got my email February 4. Just noticed the update yesterday on applyyourself, but it says 02/09/09.
  6. I can see mine (as of 2/9/09). It has a letter from the School of Arts and Sciences saying I have been admitted but does not mention anything about funding. I haven't received a hard copy of anything from them yet. Is that how yours is too?
  7. Hi All... been lurking for a few days but decided to join in. I'm one of the others who got an unofficial acceptance email from GWU and GPPI on Feb. 4. Has anyone who got their email from GWU or GPPI on Feb. 4 heard about funding yet? At first I was excited because I thought hearing back so early might have meant some money was coming my way, but now it seems that was probably wishful thinking.
