    I was not invited to the visitation weekend, but i still have not been rejected officially. The website says my application has been submitted and is still under review. Now since I know that they have sent out acceptances, rejections, and have wait listed some people, how should I take this? At this point I still have not contacted anyone in the department. Should I?

    Hey direshark. I go to WSU and am applying to some of the same schools as you (Notre Dame, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara. Anyways, I was hoping that if you hear back from any of those schools you could let me know, and I'll do the same for you.

    Hey, I wouldn't worry about the two decisions available for UCSB's soc department. I work closely with a faculty member there and have applied for admittance. As far as I have heard they have not sent out notifications yet. Maybe the people who posted decisions called in or new a faculty member there. If you haven't been accepted yet, I would not automatically take it as a rejection.
