  1. Hi, I am looking to go to graduate school (for a phd), and one of the topics I am interested in is culture in the light of the internet. Does anyone have any insight on this field (general insights, and more graduate school related insights like strong programs, opportunities, etc)? I'm still very very early in the process, and I don't really know much specifics about what is going on in the field itself. Thanks!
  2. I have been fixed on Psych for a long time, but have recently decided to explore Sociology. My main problem with Psych is that as it studies such narrow processes, it may be hard to get a holistic view of the human person. I am also very interested in society and culture, in relation to the individual. I'm still an undergrad though, and I still have a lot of time to think it over, and will read a lot more about both areas, and try to find research opportunities in both. More concretely, and prematurely I must admit, I was wondering how the graduate school situation compares between the two disciplines. Is there a lot of overlap in sociology and social psych in academia? What about from the admissions standpoint? Which is more competitive? Thanks!

  4. Hi! I was just wondering how much research experience do admitted students to top programs usually have. I'm trying to get as much as possible, but I don't know where to set the bar.
  5. Do most people who get into Berkeley/Princeton/etc have multiple publications, presentations? I'm trying to do as much as possible (as an undergrad), but don't really have anything to aim for. Also, how do they regard research in divergent fields, like in social psychology?
