  1. Well, I did not get into Princeton. It was the best match for me but they were not in total agreement with my assessment. I did not apply to any other place and know that my Ph.D. ambitions have reached their demise. I am remarkably at peace with the decision. I had an outstanding application with great recommendations from some of the top scholars in the discipline of Religion. I had a great writing sample, solid GRE scores and a solid undergraduate and graduate record. There was nothing more I could do to distinguish myself to the graduate admission committee at Princeton. I am thankful for their consideration and review of my application and for the process. It's certainly a punch, but not knockdown. And I will go on as God would have me to go on not fully knowing where "on" leads to but be thankful that God has not forsakened me. Congratulations to all those who not only got into Princeton University but also to other Ph.D. programs.
  2. I want to congratulate everyone who has been accepted to the doctoral or masters program of his or her respective choice. I trust that the excitement will culminate in the most excellent research pursuits. As you focus the particulars of your lives on completing your research, which at times will be daunting, remember that you worked so hard to be in this position and were chosen from a significant pool of qualified applicants who are now left to make decisions on their own respective life journeys. I pray each of your success and fulfillment of your scholarly and/or ministerial ambitions. Now, if only I could hear back from Princeton University with the good news that I have been accepted, I might be able to join you guys as a participant observer in the celebration.
  3. Hmm. Are you referencing Princeton Seminary or the Department of Religion at Princeton University? I would think in the case of the latter, religious idenification would not have any bearing given the department's lack of connection to a specific religious tradition. I applied to the Department of Religion at Princeton. Have the rest of you applied to the Department of Religion at Princeton or to Princeton Seminary?
  4. I have also applied to Princeton under the program of ethics. I am praying for an acceptance. There is really not any other place where I would like to conduct doctoral study.
