  1. I am yet to see a Baylor topic on this site, so here goes. I have been accepted into the MA program and I'll most likely be accepting. I took a visit to Waco a couple of weeks ago, and was told that there were around 15 or 16 offers out there. I just got word on funding: tuition remission and $6,500 stipend. The stipend is fine, my pants generally have smaller pockets anyways. I'd like to hear anyone else's experience. Best to you all.
  2. Awin, This is not to the point of this forum (sorry everybody), but I see you were accepted into Baylor. Will you be attending? There's a 95% chance I'll be going there, and would like to hear the statuses of other incomers. You can comment here, or if there's some other way to communicate through this site, feel free. And to all: I would put only trace amounts of stock in the note that began this thread. There are many different experiences that people bring into these forums, all of which are worth considering. But don't let one comment dissuade you. Best of luck to all of you.
  3. I took a trip up there about three weeks ago (not an official visit, only to see a friend) and was told by the secretary that MA announcements would be at the beginning of April. You can imagine my surprise. I hate to think that she might have been speaking of the rejections, and with her privy knowledge pitied me for all my ignorance. Best of luck to you. I hope the answers come sooner.
  4. TCS: Being one who was offered an MA spot at Loyola for two years running, I don't believe this was one of the last two spots (if there are definitvely two spots left). The MA is generally unfunded, and they make several similar offers. You candidacy on the waiting list places you in a better position for the PhD, I would think, as that was what happened to me last year before I was offered an MA spot. I hope your situation turns out well. And as a disclaimer (possibly a universal disclaimer for these forums), every situation may be different, so don't put full stock in my comments. Best of luck to you all.
  5. Wild_Rose, I see you were admitted to the MA. Congratulations. How were you informed? Thanks.
  6. I'll start by apologizing. I placed the rejection on the results page, by way of a mistake I made on the computer. I applied to ND last year, and at the bottom of the online application, there is an e-letter (mine is in the form of a rejection). Here is the tricky part: the date on the e-letter digitally changes according to the day you open it (so if you opened it today it would say Feb. 11, 2011). Becuase I have several applications going with different schools and I don't like to use the same password for every account, I had saved my ND password automatically, and thus logged into last year's application, thus seeing last year's rejection leter dated for this year (and last year's was initially sent March 11, if that helps). I hope that makes sense. I had actually just posted different information but went to check my account to make sure. I am extremely sorry to cause any anxiety or confusion. Next time I think I get rejected, I'll wait and make sure it's for real. And if you are still confused, in essence I am saying THERE IS NO REJECTION, I MADE A MISTAKE. Best of luck to all of you, and much peace as well.
