I received my acceptance around the 15th. However, I did get an email a few days later saying they had a problem with the mailing system and a lot of letters were sent to the wrong adddress. Did you get that email? If not, its worth calling ythe office, the lady is very helpful. -

I contacted one of my schools about a visit, and they said they had other students coming on two days, and I could join either. It isn't an "accepted students day" or anything like that, but multiple students contacted them, so its an impromptu visit/tour -

I went to an open house in January for a school (just to check it out, before any applications were even due) and there was only 1 person who brought her parent. I think its completely acceptable, just not sure how many people will bring them. My dad is coming with me to some open houses, but he is just going to roam around the city/campus while I'm at the event. -

Yah I finished mine in February, and have only heard financial information from one school. I think in most programs they are only going to offer loans and maybe work study depending on the school. Most programs I've come across base scholarships off of merit or a separate need-based application. -

So to everyone that has been going on department visits after receiving acceptance... Have you still been dressing 'professionally' as if in an interview situation? Or is business casual/dressy casual OK to wear? Thanks! -

Now that I have my acceptances (still waiting on one), I think I am becoming more obsessive checking my email for funding notifications! Everytime my phone buzzes, I cross my fingers its an email from a school... I'm slowly going crazy!! -

I know for sure that ASU is on spring break right now (I live in Phoenix), but I'm not sure if the admissions lady takes a break as well. -

I went to visit in January for their Open House and I got a feeling that most of the funding goes to PhD students. They said they fully fund all PhD students and have the biggest PhD program in the country. However, I did talk with the graudate assistant through email and she said 'recruitment' scholarships are offered to some incoming 1st years, but they are only for the 1st three quarters. She also said work-study is available if you are eligible through the government. If you personal message me your email I can forward you the PDF she sent me about financial aid options! Bumblebee - I received my acceptance in the beginning of March and in the letter it said we didn't need to notify them until August about our decision. I'm thinking they don't do a waitlist? Maybe they wait to hear from some of the first group and then send out more letter (I'm just taking a guess). I do remember reading from last year people still waiting around at the end of March without any notice. Maybe try calling and ask? The graduate coordinator is really helpful. -

Ahhh all these MGH phone calls are making me go crazy!!! If I didn't already have 3 acceptances I would be going completely nuts right about now! UT people --> I'm guessing decisions are slowly coming out for Austin since my classmate just received hers. Dallas - they have rolling admissions so I'm not sure how long after applications go in do they finally make the decision. Two of my classmates received acceptances in January, and another in Feburary....good luck! -

It seems that a lot of people applying this year have amazing stats and experience. I bet they are looking really hard at the rec letters and personal statement for those deciding factors -
