I think it depends a lot on the school people are applying for. If you look at the USNEWS rankings, schools in the top 25 are going to have higher student stats than other schools. Obviously rankings aren't everything, but I am sure students with higher stats are more likely to apply to higher ranked schools. However, my friend had average stats and got accepted to UT-Dallas (in the top 25), so I am sure it also depends on the other students applying to the same school. WHO KNOWS! I'm not sure which Texas schools you applied to, but I know a few people who heard back from UT-Dallas. They did rolling admissions so two of my classmates heard back in January! The other mid-February... -

CONGRATS!! -
I am not sure if it is the same for grad and it was for undergrad, but I was offered funding/scholarship my freshman year, and it was upheld all 4 years of my undergrad. I was even able to defer it for a semester when I was abroad. The downside, I started my freshman year with almost a full scholarship, but with the tuition increases, it barely covered 50% by the time I was a senior. It may be worth contacting the financial aid department if the funding is through the university. They have always been helpful in answering questions (although sometimes it takes talking to a few people...) Also to whoever plans on moving there, I would HIGHLY suggest bringing a car. Even when I lived 5 blocks from campus, it was great to drive to the different restaurants, stores, etc. There are restaurants and a grocery store in close distance (depending on what side of campus you live on), but you will want to explore more! Also, if you bring a car you can live further away from campus. Depending on the direction you go, the further away you are, the nicer/safer the area becomes!

I received an e-mail awhile back from Arizona saying "mid-march". I went there for my undergrad and some of my friends still down there (I graduated in Dec) said they are somewhat behind on applications because they received so many -

Thanks for calling! I think a lot of schools are behind schedule this year. I heard Arizona is behind as well because of the amount of applicants this year. the UNC app was due back on Dec. 15, which is probably why it is one of the only schools to notify students already. -

hah I'm in the same boat. I think I may file for the first time because I made just enough to actually get a return! woo Shelley D - I haven't anything from the Boston schools either (BU/MGH). I only received confirmation from MGH awhile back saying they received my application but I have heard NOTHING from BU. CSDCAS says they sent my application in December, so hopefully they are just waiting on the people who didn't submit until the very last minute. -

When I filled out my FAFSA it updated and sent the information almost immediately (like the next business day). Do you have to have your tax information on there too?? -

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! YAY for UNC! I have similar stats to you, so I am guessing the pool was quite competitive this year (1350 GRE - 760Q, 590V, 3.84 gpa (4.0 in major), research experience, etc) I'm applying to UW and Arizona also! I did my undergrad at Arizona and looooved the program. -

I didn't get any questions either. I bet it is because you are international and such. What country are you applying from?! Are you applying to any other schools? -

I'm an out-of-stater too, all the way from Arizona! I bet they are still doing them, because I got my acceptance on Tuesday, but someone posted last week that they received it. Has anything on your online profile changed under the "status" section? -

I'm an in-field applicant. I've also seen that few out-of-field applicants are accepted, but I think it's only if they don't have the prerequisites finished...Do you have those? Mscongeniality1 - that field trip sounds awesome! -

That's what I'm thinking too. U of Arizona sent an e-mail saying mid-March, but that is the only one I know of that has given a time frame. I'm a little worried about Northwestern because from last years responses, some people heard really early, while others didn't hear until the end of March! and Thanks everyone! I'm crossing my fingers for you too! -

I kept getting errors too! Mine was when I was filling out the honors/award section, I called the UNC help desk for 20 minutes and they couldn't even figure out the problem!! Also, one of my recs was just sent to the dept because my professor couldn't upload it! Lets hope all this down time means they are uploading all the decisions! -

I just called the number at the bottom of the email (in her signature) and asked for Rita. It took me a few times but I finally reached her directly. I think I called her closer to the end of the work day, about 330pm. Good luck reaching her! Has anyone heard anything from BU about SSN or applications?? They are CSDCAS also, but I haven't heard ANYTHING! -

I called her with mine, but it took me a few days to finally reach her. You can always leave a message asking her to call you back -

I just checked my UNC status and it still says "Thank you for submitting your application. Your decision is not yet available." AHH!
