Anybody else bite the bullet and accept before the deadline? I was waiting it out for my final college to respond when I realized I wouldn't take their offer over one I had already anyway so there was no point delaying the inevitable.
I'll see some of you in Cornell in the Fall!
I suggest you ask if you can defer your admission for one year based on financial reasons...let them know you are still very interested in the course but would rather earn some more money before commencing so that you can focus on your work when you do start rather than stressing out about money issues.
It's the S&T award, they seem to work very differently. The IIE organised pretty much everything (i.e. paying application fees, checking all applications were completed, submitting and following up) and were really helpful, I've only good things to say about them.
Will you still be funded if you don't get Fulbright?
I'm also an Irish Fulbrighter, found out about the Fulbright Award in Sept 2010, applications filled out myself but submitted by the IIE... the application process is strange as you have to relinquish a lot of control. I have applied for PhDs in 7 schools and have gotten one firm acceptance so far and one unofficial acceptance. Fingers crossed for the rest!
