Does anybody know about the PhD program in Poli Sci at Syracuse? While they have a stellar reputation for their terminal master's degrees, I'm not sure how the doctoral program measures up. I'd really appreciate any thoughts or impressions on this. Thanks!
I think they meant "immediately" upon making the decisions... which hasn't happened yet. I emailed Tina directly and she said they expect to make offers the first week of March, or at the very latest at the beginning of the following week.
I did, however, have a good friend who suggested that when I go running, I imagine myself stomping on the faces of the people in the admissions committee. Somewhat more helpful.
"You know, you never know what you're going to do. My brother couldn't find a job after he got his MFA, and he ended up driving a truck for a few years. You know, truck drivers make a lot of money."
That wasn't even sarcasm. That was an attempt at making me feel better. What?
Thanks! Danny's got a very stereotypical "woof", and a rather piercing one at that. He's 14 and still acts like a crazed puppy most of the time, so I think (and hope!) that he's going to be around for a while longer.
I got my first rejection letter too. I know exactly how you feel, but you've applied to a lot of places, and at the end of the day you only need one acceptance.
This is my Border Collie/Sheltie mix, Danny. He's a control freak too, so I feel like on some level, he empathizes with me. However, he gets to bark out his frustrations, whereas I do not.
