  1. Yea I was pretty happy getting into Americana and George Washington, however I didn't get any funding from GWU and I DOUBT that I will get anything from American. I just can't justify financing that amount of money on education and housing in the D.C. area...I don't believe that i can be completely ensured I will make that money back in my future life. I just would like to hear from GMU because I think that I have a good chance at funding from there and it would be competition to Pittsburgh's GSPIA. but right now, being an in-state resident of PA, I am leaning toward GSPIA because of the price...i would just like to have everything in a line and know all my options with all the incentives so that I can finally make a choice!
  2. I called George Mason yesterday just to make sure that all of my materials had made it to them and if so what the hold up on decisions were. The woman I spoke with told me that they had received all of my materials (over 2 months ago) and that my application has not been reviewed yet (but was in the pile to be reviewed). This is kind of discouraging seeing that I need to let American and George Washington know by April 15. She told me that I could request and extension from these schools, however, I wondered why it wouldn't have been much easier for the students that applied to their program that they respond to applications in a timely fashion. I feel like they are going to lose out on a lot of quality students due to their late decision making.
  3. I also got this e-mail from Mason. I am wondering why it is taking them so long to respond with acceptance letters. I called the past week and asked what their time frame was on sending out letters and the lady that I spoke with in admissions was very unhelpful and vague. Did anyone else get a more finite time period other than "they start reviewing applications in March"? I am VERY surprised that George Washington, American and Pittsburgh sent out their acceptance letters before Mason.
  4. Congrats! I hope that you enjoy your visit...I am at an institution about 40 miles northeast of Pittsburgh and believe me when I say that you are fortunate about the weather we are having today!!!! If you could, after you visit to campus post your opinions and reactions about the professors and information you received about the program; it would be greatly appreciated as I am still up in the air to which program to choose! Enjoy your day in Pittsburgh, and if you have time grab a Pittsburgh famous Pirmanti Bros. Sandwich for lunch or dinner, there's one right in Oakland : )
  5. I applied to the MPIA with the Global Political Economy concentration
  6. Not sure if anyone else has heard back but GSPIA (Pittsburgh) started sending out decisions today! Got my acceptance literally 5 minutes ago!!!! (def thought I would head back from them before I got my acceptance letters from GWU and American) - they don't tell you about funding till mid March though.... Good Luck Everyone!
  7. Thanks! Ironically i JUST received my acceptance letter via e-mail about 5 minutes ago!!!!! So very excited. So I suppose this means that they are starting to send out decisions finally!!!!! Good luck!
  8. Yea, that's what I am surprised about. I got my acceptance letters for American Feb. 25th and GWU Feb 26th! I don't know what Mason's hold up is, I actually expected to hear back from Mason and GSPIA first! lol
  9. Wondering if anyone heard back from GSPIA (Pittsburgh) or George Mason University Public Policy. I applied to the MPIA program at GSPIA and the ICP program at George Mason. I've already been accepted to American University (SPA) and George Washington University (Trachtenberg) but haven't heard anything from Pitt or GMU. This kind of surprises me seeing that GWU and AU are regarded as better programs in the rankings! Any thought from former applicants of when letters are sent out?
