[Anyone else receieve two rejection letters from the same school?]

Last year, I received at least 2 letters of rejection from one school. I believe that I got 3 from the school. It was like the school told me "no" then just to make sure I understood they said "no" again. Then if memory serves correctly, they said it again just to make sure that I really knew they did not want me to even visit. It was a little funny.

I don't know if I am number 2 or what exactly, but it is making me sick thinking about what will happen. I am naturally pessimistic, but I feel like I may get it. This just makes me feel worse because I have this hope and cannot help but think it is going to crash in front of me.

Just learn from the experience. Some professors I know suggest applying to about 10 schools while others suggest around 15 schools. Try to find a position (whether paid or volunteer) where you are at least somewhat close to the subject you want to study further. It is not fun having a year off (I know from experience and may get another year off...), but if this is what you want to do, then you can only start preparing for the next go around and use what you learned from this one.

No one on here is a loser for trying to get into grad school.

I guess the wait list is in a way like the MLB hall of fame. Some people are first ballot. Being on the wait list is like getting in on the second or third ballot. Either way you are in the hof. Maybe this makes sense.
