  1. Has anyone heard from UC-Davis or UConn? At this point I assume it's safe to interpret silences as rejections... but curious I am still... Thanks!
  2. Accepted: U of Louisiana-Lafayette (Creative Writing, waitlisted for fellowship), North Texas (Creative Writing, funding ??), Louisiana State (English, full funding), Houston (English, funding ??), Southern Methodist (English, full funding), Wailisted: Houston (Creative Writing) MIA: UC-Davis (Comp Lit), U of Connecticut (Comp Lit & Cultural Studies) ..... anyone hear anything from these two? I'll be waiting till the 15th for Houston, UConn & Davis; otherwise, I'm off to Baton Rouge... I'll probably be declining all other offers in the next week or so... good luck to everyone!
  3. For comp, lit. I'm still waiting to hear back from Connecticut, UC-Davis, UC-Riverside, UMinnesota and Chicago... For English I have 2 acceptances (SMU & U. North Texas) and and I'm still waiting to hear from Louisiana State, U. Louisiana Lafayette, Fordham, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and University of Houston... How bout you?
  4. Yep: Denied. "We had the fewest spaces ever to offer this year..." Hope you fare better than I did!
  5. Has anyone heard anything about an itinerary of some sort? It would be nice to know how prepared we need to be if there are interviews and such... or maybe it's strictly a recruiting/meet-n-greet type thing?
  6. Yeah SMU is the first school I've heard from so far... still waiting on several others that would probably be better fits for me, but at this point I don't see myself being able to turn down SMU's crazy-generous funding. But besides that, their Clements Center for Southwest/Mexican-American border history and literature would probably be a pretty great resource for what I'm interested in... I'm not very familiar with many of the profs. so I'm looking forward to meeting them and you!
  7. Just wondering who's going to the SMU campus visit/what everyone's research focus is? I'm critical theory,,, globalization and psychoanalysis mostly... which I've recenty been applying to Mexican-American border lit./history... Anyhoo just curious who's all going... looking forward to meeting everyone!
