Starting a fully funded PhD at Toronto. And, to be honest, it still hasn't sunk in! It's a move halfway across the world for me, so I hope things work out. Our seasons are the other way around, so we're in autumn now, and I'll essentially have two winters in a row. Fun stuff. I'm currently teaching a high school Latin class, as well as tutoring a first-year Greek lit in translation course. But really I'm trying to enjoy the last of my freedom, cuz I won't have any for the next 5-6 years!!!

Thanks! I wasn't expecting a decision this early either; such a nice surprise. Although oddly enough, my status still says "under review" as well. Clearly rather slow to update! I'm from New Zealand - it'll be a bit of a commute....

Anyone know anything about the PhD at Toronto/when news will be out? I'm guessing next month some time... what a heinous wait! Am an international student so don't fancy my chances, but one can dream. (Very excited at the prospect of Alison Keith, Victoria Wohl and Erik Gunderson all in one place!)
