I didn't realize that it had been as long as it has since I last checked the forum. Thanks for sharing your info! I applied to the MA, Option B program. I didn't get an email, but in Friday's mail came an acceptance letter. I'm not sure what took them so long; they were so far behind other schools with this. Odd. Maybe I was on a secret waiting list or something, ha.

I've browsed the forum some and really only noticed one person that heard back from Claremont regarding a big-time scholarship. I'm not seeing many listings of Claremont in signatures of posters either. So, I've been motivated to ask...anyone still waiting on Claremont admission results? Or am I an odd duck out? Considering sending an email around Monday. I haven't been able to find an official "results day". Anyone have any knowledge on this? Thanks!

I actually was having similar questions about Candler. My mentor went there for his PhD, and so I asked him a laundry list of questions. He finished up there six years ago, so a bit may have changed. According to him: it is a rather nice, middle to upper class burb. Grounds are well kept. Fairly trendy. I guess that the Indigo Girls live there and got their start in that neighborhood. He said that Emory parking can be tricky. They evidently have a number of parking lots that require permits and then have shuttles that take you to campus from there. Cost of living is rather high for the region, but obviously less than other areas of the country. Safety of the area he was was pretty decent as far as he remembered. The school that I go to now is in the middle of a more financial/crime hurting community, and so he pointed out that the community for the most part embraces the university; there isn't a stark contrast of money at the university and money in the neighborhood.

Weigh your options: Is your deposit price worth an inquiry phone call about funding from another school? I'm not sure what your deposit is, but I'd probably say go for it...but then again easier for me to say than to be done.

Do you mind sharing how long ago you submitted your financial paperwork (fafsa/tax return) to Candler?

Long time lurker, first time poster. I thought I'd add my news. I heard back from Candler via OPUS on the 22nd...an acceptance, yay! Oh, and it is an acceptance for the MTS.
